🚨 Tail Damage in Dairy Cattle – Final Study Phase Underway! Your Views Matter!🐄

Over the last few years, a major NZ-wide study (funded by the Sustainable Food & Fibre Futures Fund) has looked into tail damage in dairy cows—with many of our FarmFirst clients playing a key role.

Now in its final phase, the study is comparing farmer opinions in 2025 vs 2021 to track progress in understanding. Tail welfare matters—and your voice helps shape better outcomes.

The sharing of resources between our vet clinics in the Waipa Group allows veterinarians to be available to deliver services to clients that provide most value to your farming business. Your Te Awamutu vets focus on proactive programmes and problem solving, especially as they relate to production, reproduction, mastitis and lameness. Further to our team of vets in Te Awamutu, we have a Trading Manager and 3 fulltime rural technicians with vast knowledge and expertise, providing services that will support your business in achieving its potential. We also have 7 TB technicians who service the South Waikato, working out of our Te Awamutu vet clinic. Our dedicated companion animal team consists of a fulltime small animal veterinarian and our vet nurse who are committed to the health and happiness of every pet that comes through the door.
