LA CRIQUE was back in business today at the Taupo trials - was great to see her kick off her new season with a good day out and a comfortable win in Heat 5 🔥🐎

Whilst we don’t have any runners this week to round out the season, we’d like to take a moment to look back on our success this 2024/2025 racing season.

This season culminated in 9x wins, 17x seconds and 7x thirds across 72 starts. We had one Group/Listed success in the form of La Crique taking out the Group 2 Dunstan Horsefeeds Auckland Thoroughbred Breeders Stakes - and 4x agonisingly close Group 1 2nds!

At this stage La Crique is being aimed at the Group 1 Proisir Plate (formally the Tarzino Trophy) at Ellerslie before hopefully embarking on a final Australian campaign 🤞🏻🤩

We sold a few horses this season with one of those being exciting 3yo filly Knobelas. She has had 4x starts in Australia for trainers M Price and M Kent Jnr for 2x wins and 2x seconds. One to keep an eye on 👀

We are looking forward to the new season and launching the racing careers of up and coming 3yr olds Aksil, Rioja and Valsoeur (La Criques little sister!)💥

We head to Te Rapa Racing today with two runners on the truck 🐎 🐎

💥Race 1 - MDN 2YO+ 1200m - GIOIA MAGICA - she will jump from the inside gate with Wiremu Pinn aboard.

💥 Race 2 - R65 1200m - SI EXQUIS - she is fresh up today and has some weight relief with Sam McNab taking the ride.

We venture North to Ruakaka Racing - Whangarei RC today with three runners 🐎

💥ACAPELAGO - Race 6, 2.40pm, ITM 3YO Winter Championship Final 1600m. She’s been racing consistently all preparation and will have Kelly Myers aboard from barrier 3.

💥VADANOVA - Race 6, 2.40pm, ITM 3YO Winter Championship Final 1600m. Has Elen Nicholas aboard today from barrier 2.

💥MAJOR MAJOR - Race 8, 3.50pm, ITM Stayers Championship Final 2100m. Off the back of an impressive win over the same distance last start at Ellerslie. Kelly Myers takes the ride again and they will jump from barrier 11.

⚡️ GIOIA MAGICA - Race 3 @ 1.13pm over 1200m. She is fresh up and has the services of Michael McNab today, jumping from barrier 10.

⚡️ MIDNIGHT SCANDAL (pictured) - Race 7 @ 3.42pm - Listed Team Weallans Tauranga Classic - WFA F&M over 1400m. She has been racing super this time in and won well last time out over 1400m. She’ll have Kelly Myers aboard again today and will jump from the outside gate.

What a day for our team at Ellerslie💥💥

🔥🥇MAJOR MAJOR - relished the extra distance and won the Open 2100m very comfortably!

🔥🥇MIDNIGHT SCANDAL - handled the step up in grade and produced another very good effort to win the Open 1400m

We were also pleased with the run of ACAPELAGO for a gallant 2nd in the 3YO event 👍

Once again - great rides by Kelly Myers! 🙌🏻

A big congratulations to the connections of all of these horses today! 🥂🥂

TRIALS DEBRIEF - TUESDAY 27 MAY

🐎🐎🐎

Tuesday was a busy day for our little team with 8 horses lining up to trial at Te Awamutu. All horses performed to, or above, our expectations with 1x win, 2x 2nds, 3x 3rds a 4th and a 6th.

Highlights of the day included the below;

❗️SNOOKI (3YOF Proisir X Lady Missy) - A sharp performance for a win, the smallest in our team but shows plenty of heart!

❗️SOVERATO (2YOF Vadamos X Princess Biscotte) - Very solid second placing and has now earnt herself a spell.

❗️GIOIA MAGICA (4YOM Per Incanto X Joy Of Life) - another very good second, she will now progress on to race.

❗️TROUVAILLE (4YOG Vadamos X Niche) - A bold 3rd amongst black type company, he will now head to the races in a couple of weeks.

❗️UNCLE (4YOG Embellish X Butcher's Daughter) - trialled off the back of a win at the Synthetic trials recently and built on that with a strong performance running on late for 3rd. He will also now head to the races.

❗️VALSOEUR (2YOF Vadamos X Destiny Cove) LA CRIQUES FULL LITTLE SISTER 😍👀 - debut trial for her and she went beyond our expectations with a strong performance for 3rd!

We also had pleasing efforts from THEHORSECALLEDDAVE and ANGLAND LASS who are later types who will now go for a spell to develop further.

Super proud with how these horses all presented and dealt with the day. A perfect example of the care, attention and education they receive from our awesome team!
