Check out this liver! 👀

👀 Check This Liver – Liver Fluke in Prime Condition

Thanks to one of our farmers for sharing this photo – these ewes were killed for dog tucker, and this liver was crawling with live liver fluke.

We recommend cutting into the livers of any culls – it’s an easy way to see what fluke might be doing in your flock.

What to look for in autumn/winter:
⚠️ Loss of body condition
⚠️ Poor thrift that doesn’t respond to feeding
⚠️ Advanced cases may develop bottle jaw

Fluke can quietly pull ewes down, leaving them lighter at lambing, with less milk and weaker lambs.

There is a few different testing options for liver fluke.

** THURSDAY 3 APRIL - Equine Ulcer Scoping Clinic **

We are on the countdown to our first Equine Ulcer Scoping Clinic of the year on Thursday 3 April, which is next week!!

We will be joined by Dr Tim Montgomery BVMS, well known Auckland Equine Practitioner, who joined Randlab as NZ Country Manager in November last year.

We are wrapt to have him and all his expertise join us next week!

As per previous Ulcer Scoping Clinics, this will only go ahead if we have filled the spaces allocated so please get in touch ASAP if you are interested and would like to reserve a spot! We will likely not have Dr Tim back until approx September.

Education is key when it comes to ulcers, so we hope you can join us!

🥳🥳 THE WINNER HAS BEEN DRAWN!! 🥳🥳

We’ve just worked through all the entries - all 146 of them!! 😃

Thank you to everyone who entered!! It has been so entertaining watching everyone make their calculated guesses these last few weeks 😅😆🤓

No one guessed the actual number which was 136!! We had heaps over 200 and heaps under 100 and the highest and lowest numbers we had to take a pic of 🤣

We had 2 guesses of 135 so as we’re super official here in the office, we drew the winner from the two 🤓🥳

Annnnnnd because there were two who guesses the closest we found it hard not to give a second prize… 😬😬🙈🙉

The winner is in the comments and she is one very happy camper! 🤩 CONGRATULATIONS!!
