My farrier comes all the way up from HB to sort my hoiho feet out.. hooves...

Ever 6 weeks - Geordie Sawyer Kiwi Cowboy 🤠

Local home boy! Great hoiho handler and knowledge to share at his young age. A willing forward thinking individual to do the best by your hoiho. Not only for their hooves but mental and physical.

His absolute dream is to become a specialized farrier and what better opportunity to start experimenting under guidance like myself and equine vets in Hb. (I worked in equine specialist hospital for 5 years while vet nursing, I have seen alot so share my experience with him).

He has corrected 2 of my cases - pretty bad ones through no fault of mine at all, but via blown abcesess or structural change due to injuries.

Our hoiho feet need to be well maintained so they can perform to their full proteintial.

This is proof my equine handling is only getting better through consistency. To have your hoiho like this with no drama and just happy to have the attention each visit has gotten better and better.

I have had problem cases with horses that have been mishandled or some physical trauma which I have worked them through under professional guidance to gain skills to continue educating them. With the likes of Jimmy Braithwaite Russell Higgins and Sam Sidney, who will always lean on of I get stuck.

When your kuri come and stay they get spoiled, a mattress just for them! 😁 not any old mattress a nice thick inner sprang that the kids failed to put away 😂

11.21pm my body is sore... my stress cat "Santa" has come to take my pain away..

My girl is nursing me as I now move through a fever 🤒 which has just hit me tonight..

I tried to turn my brain off and try sleep but my ears are singing songs again..

I feel so bad that I can not get out with all my kuri this week and man I hope it goes over the weekend.... 🫩🤕

Dear Lord, take this sickness away so I can with my kuri whanau and enjoy the sunshine again.

Before Facebook was a thing "Liz" was one of my students at Waikehe Vets - thats right I was the practices manager and head nurse during my term there for the original owners!

My life on Waiheke was precious and I would have loved to retire there. But life brought me home to retire Vet Nursing here... 🙃

Im so greatful for that time I spent teaching, experiencing different responsibilities, and truly connecting with people whom I still have connections with today.

Im grateful that before kids I had a vision to own my own business but never did I think it would be walking dogs in Gisborne...

Just a little snippet of my earlier days in the animal world.

Im starting to share why Im who I am today! Things can only get better from here on out!
