⚠️ PARVOVIRUS WARNING ⚠️

We are seeing an increase in parvovirus cases in our area.

Parvovirus is a highly contagious and potentially fatal virus, especially for unvaccinated puppies and dogs. It spreads easily through dog-to-dog contact and contaminated environments (including shoes, clothing, and shared spaces).

Signs of parvovirus can include:
• Severe vomiting
• Bloody diarrhoea
• Lethargy
• Loss of appetite

💉 Vaccination is the best protection.
Ensuring your puppy or dog is up to date with their vaccinations is crucial in preventing this disease.

If you’re in doubt about your pet’s vaccination status, call the clinic on 384 3075 and we’ll check this for you.

🐾 Patient Story of the Week: Meet Pam! 🐶💕

This lovely girl came to see us after getting a fish hook caught in the side of her mouth while out on an adventure. Ouch! 🎣😣

Her family did exactly the right thing, they didn’t try to pull it out themselves and brought her straight to the clinic. Hooks have barbs, which can cause more damage if removed incorrectly, so quick veterinary attention is always best.

We’re happy to report that Pam is doing well after a visit to the clinic to have the hook removed from her mouth!

* UPDATE *
Not surprised that so many people want a piece of this guy! Thanks to all those who emailed to inquire. We’re following up on a home at present but if it falls through , we’ll repost this 😊

This striking big 6 month old dudley lab is looking for a new home due to a change of circumstance with his owners.
He’s healthy, vaccinated, toilet trained, and been to puppy preschool.
If you think he might be a fit for you , email the clinic [email protected] attention Thea 🐾

Meet the Team!

This is Emma, who joined the team earlier this year. She recently moved back to New Zealand after spending a few years working overseas!

When Emma isn’t working, you’ll find her teaching exercise classes at Les Mills or going on walks with her cat Millie ☺️

Meet one of our vets, Thea!

When she’s not busy working in the clinic and caring for you and your pets, you’ll find her outdoors ☀️

Recently, Thea took on the Crater Rim Ultra 53km race. Even more impressive, she came second place finishing in 5 hours and 54 minutes!
