Meet Poppy and Rosie, our patient's of the week!

Poppy and Rosie both came in for dental procedures and we're so proud of how brave they were!

Because every pet family is unique, we tailored Poppy and Rosie's visit to make it as stress-free as possible:

🍪 Treat of choice: Royal Canin gastrointestinal wet food during their recovery

🐾 Fear free win: The girls arrived for their dental procedures and we kept them together as much as we could during their admission and recovery.
Rosie was sedated first, with her owner and Poppy supporting her, together in our tranquil forest room. It's so important to us to keep families together as much as we can.

We love taking the time to get to know what makes each pet special, so we can create visits that feel positive, comfortable, and something they look forward to.

Behind the scenes in surgery 🩺

There’s a lot that goes on behind the scenes to keep our patients safe and comfortable during surgery.

From careful preparation and monitoring, to gentle handling and attention to every little detail, our vets and nursing team work together to give each patient the best possible care. 💛

Here's a little glimpse at our vets doing what they do so well.

🌟 A fresh smile for Sammy! 🦷

Sammy was in for a dental scale and polish to remove plaque and tartar and help keep those pearly whites healthy.
Nurses Bri and Brennah also took dental X-rays, which let them, and Sammy's Vet, look beneath the gumline and check the parts of each tooth we can’t see during a routine examination.

Regular dental care is an important part of keeping your pets happy and comfortable 💛

Meet Mango, our patient of the week!

Mango came in for her final puppy vaccination and we're so proud of how brave she was!

Because every pet is unique, we tailored Mango's visit to make it as stress-free as possible:

🍪 Treat of choice: Ziwi Peak Liver Tripe
(Mango wasn't a fan of a peanut butter!)
💛 Favourite exam spot: On the consult table
🐾 Fear free win: Mango has been doing lots of training at home, which gave her plenty of confidence during her final vaccination appointment.

We love taking the time to get to know what makes each pet special, so we can create visits that feel positive, comfortable, and something they look forward to.

Normal or Not?

Not every new or odd behaviour means that somethings is wrong... but some can be an important clue that your pet needs veterinary care.

In our 'Normal or Not?' series, we'll tackle common questions and help you understand what's normal, what's not, and when it's time to book an appointment.

Ultrasounds are better with cuddles 💛
Nurse Bri kept Forest feeling safe and stress-free on her lap. She got plenty of cuddles throughout her ultrasound and was such a good girl the whole way through!
We love making all parts of our patients vet journey as calm, comfortable and positive as we can.

💛 It's all thanks to you! 💛

We've just completed another month of our 'Skip PayWave, Support a Cause' initiative.
We're grateful to everyone who joined in, enabling us to make this donation to charity.

Instead of tapping with PayWave, many of you made the conscious decision to help us support charity instead - avoiding PayWave and dropping a token in the jar representing your preferred charity.

As promised, we'll be donating the equivalent of these avoided PayWave fees to the charity with the most tokens - making a difference together.

🎉 The charity winner for July was and the donation cost was $300.

Thank you for getting behind this initiative with such enthusiasm. Let's continue to turn small change into big impact!

Did you know your pet’s microchip needs to be registered to help bring them home? 🐾

A microchip is only the first step. If your pet’s chip isn’t registered, or your contact details aren’t up to date, it can make it much harder to reunite you if they ever go missing.

The New Zealand Companion Animal Register (NZCAR) is New Zealand’s national companion animal microchip register. It links your pet’s microchip number with your contact details, helping vets, councils, shelters and other authorised users identify lost pets and reconnect them with their families.

Whether you have a new puppy or kitten, or your pet has been part of your family for years, it’s worth checking their details are correct.

✅ Register your pet’s microchip
✅ Update your contact details if you move or change phone numbers
✅ Check your pet’s details today

Because every pet deserves a way home. 💙
