1. Some corgis don't have tails to help them balance, this emphasises the corgi wiggle!
2. They were bred to herd cattle

🐾 Getting a new puppy? Follow these tips for new puppy owners✂️

Before you take your dog to the groomers for the first time, there are a few things you can do at home to make the experience smooth and stress-free:

1️⃣ Get them used to being touched – Practice gently handling their paws, ears, and face.
2️⃣ Introduce brushing – Start with short, calm sessions to get them comfortable with the brush.
3️⃣ Play with sounds – Use hairdryers or hoovers in the same room as them, so they're less sensitive to sounds they'll hear at the groomers.

A little prep goes a long way in making your pup’s first groom a paw-sitive experience! 🛁✨

🦷 Let's talk teeth!

I've had a lot of teeth clean appointments over the past month and it's so wonderful seeing the difference the ultrasonic teeth cleaning method can make!
Only yesterday Maisie came in to my salon with some mild tartar build up and a bit of stinky breath! Her owners struggle to brush her teeth at home because she runs away! Thankfully she was an absolute angel staying still on the table for me, I find so often dogs behave differently here than at home with their owners - like cheeky toddlers who run their parents wild then behave like angels in public!

She left with a beautiful shiny smile and a tube of Stomodine to support with keeping her teeth clean in between visits.

Brushing your dog at home is a brilliant way to keep their coat in good condition between grooms—but it’s easy to miss a few key details. Here are the top 3 mistakes I often see (and how to avoid them):

Using the wrong brush for your dog’s coat
Not all brushes are created equal. A slicker brush might work wonders on one breed, but be useless (or even damaging) on another. Using the right tools makes a big difference—feel free to ask if you’re not sure what your dog needs.

Brushing the top coat only
A quick once-over on the surface might make things look neater, but mats often form deeper down, right next to the skin. Always part the coat and make sure you’re brushing through to the base—especially for longer or double-coated breeds.

Missing problem areas
Spots like under the collar or harness, behind the ears, and under the front legs are often forgotten—and they’re exactly where knots and mats love to form. A few extra minutes in these areas can save your dog discomfort (and possibly a full clip off later on).
