Absolutely made up!!

A few weeks ago I had a meet and a great with Jasper from Romania.

Mum didn't know much about his past but had been slowly introducing him to this scary world.

First time meeting Jasper he just hid behind mums legs. (I just sat on the floor and ignored him)

Second time meeting him he approach me and I gave him a few treats.

Today mum left him with me and had been practicing running a electric toothbrush over him at home. Mum said he was fine with it apart from it going anywhere near his head.

Mum left Jasper with me for 30mins today. First I tried brushing him. Being so matted he moved away fast. So I decided to try the clippers without a blade on. (He was absolutely fine).

I started to groom his body on the floor without any restraint. every time he looked at me I stopped and put the clippers down.

Next Jasper took himself onto the bath Matt. Again I put the clippers down. Then after a min or 2 he came and stood back Infront of me and I started clipping again for a few moments. I studied his calming signals. Apart from the panting (they mum had told me he always does) there was no other concerning signals he was showing me. Jasper again took himself and lay down on the bath Matt and came to stand back Infront of me. This went on for around 12mins. I could kick myself for not recording it. But I was absolutely mesmerized that the fact after all he had been through he had chosen to trust me.

And my first attempt at consent grooming had worked.

I was literally choked up that this sweet sweet boy picked up the understanding I intended to create between the 2 of us.

Jasper left half done and mum was very understanding and happy with the progress and I explained this would be the plan going forward.
Which she was more than happy to do.

I cannot thank sue Williamson enough for all I've learnt so far. I'm absolutely made up I could make one part of this boys life enjoyable.

🐾 A Little Reminder to All My Lovely Clients 🐾

With the warmer weather arriving, I’ve had a huge increase in calls and messages for grooming appointments — over 30 enquiries today alone! I’m so incredibly grateful for all the support, recommendations, and new customers choosing me to groom their dogs ❤️

However, I just wanted to gently remind everyone that I am currently booked up well in advance (now into July), and that’s while working 6 days a week. As much as I wish I could fit every dog in last minute, it’s simply not possible, and I do need to keep a little time to rest and recharge too 🐶✨

To avoid disappointment, please try to book your next appointments in advance, especially as the weather gets warmer and grooming demand increases. Regular pre-booking helps me make sure your pups stay on schedule and looking their best 🛁✂️
