We were a little worried this morning after hearing the hydrotherapy tank might be out of action due to a leak 😳💦

But thankfully, it turns out it was just one of the Ribble vets team having a bit of fun with an April Fools prank! 🥬

All up and running as normal at Ribble Vets Mobility 😄

Tri-Paw Day 🐾💚

Today is Tri-Paw Day! 💙🐾

We’re celebrating all the incredible three-legged pets who prove every day that resilience, courage and tail wags come in threes. 🐾🐾🐾 Many pets adapt amazingly well after amputation and go on to live happy, active, full lives.

Here at Ribble Vets, we’re proud to support our tri-paw patients every step (or hop!) of the way.
Alongside our veterinary care, we also offer complementary services including physiotherapy and hydrotherapy to help improve strength, mobility and confidence.

If you have a tri-paw superstar at home, we’d love to see them — please share pictures of your three-legged friends in the comments below! 📸🐶🐱

(Image features two of our staff pets, Bon and Jasmine, both tri-paw cats — it’s hard to tell they are tri-paw unless you look closely!)

🐈💦 Tigga is taking Mondays in his stride — showing up with all the moves as he tackles physio, hydro, and laser sessions with the mobility team.
After undergoing femoral head and neck excision surgery, he’s been putting in the work, one careful step (and confident strut) at a time, proving that recovery looks pretty cool when you’re Tigga. 🐾💪

We’re sharing this helpful from Canine Arthritis Management to highlight something that’s easy to overlook but vital for your dog’s comfort and mobility. Keeping nails short—whether through regular clipping or using a scratch board—plays a key role in healthy posture, gait, and joint health.
A small change in nail length can make a big difference to how your dog moves and feels 💚

Long nails can subtly alter a dog’s posture and gait, increasing strain on their joints - especially the toes, wrists, and shoulders.
Even a few extra millimetres can push the toes upward, shifting weight distribution and forcing compensatory movement patterns. Over time, this micro-change adds up to increased joint stress and discomfort.

The good news?
This is one of the easiest prevention wins you can make. ✨
Keeping nails trimmed to an appropriate length is a simple but powerful arthritis-prevention strategy.

✔️ Keep nails trimmed to a healthy length
✔️ Listen for “clicking” on hard floors
✔️ Ask your vet or groomer for support if you’re unsure
✔️ Stay consistent - little and often is better than big, infrequent trims

Small details matter. Nail care isn’t just cosmetic - it’s a long-term joint health strategy. 💙
