The animal we had visit the practice the other day was a Binturong πŸ–€

Facts:
πŸ–€ Binturongs belong to the Civet and Genet family
πŸ–€ They are predominantly tree dwellers
πŸ–€They have sharp claws and a prehensile tail
πŸ–€ They are native to tropical rainforests of South and Southeast Asia
πŸ–€ They are omnivores. Eating anything from small mammals, birds, fish, insects to leaves and fruit
πŸ–€ They are classified as vulnerable according to the IUCN red list, meaning they are considered to be facing a high risk of extinction in the wild

Nurses Karen and Elise took an afternoon away from the practice this week, to visit a local primary school to chat about life working as a veterinary nurse. The children listened to a talk about the wide variety of animals we care for here at Moore Vets. They also took part in a practical session learning some essential veterinary nurse skills.
There were some budding veterinary nurses in the class for sure!
