Vacancies: Two Receptionist & Animal Care Assistants Required
Post 1: Weekday & Weekends
Post 2: Weekends Only
We are looking for two new members to join our fabulous team. The roles will predominantly involve general reception duties in a very busy, fast paced veterinary practice with some animal care duties.
Day to day you will greet clients, answer calls, use our practice management system, prioritise work, respond to emails, carry out admin tasks, general practice duties, cleaning, some animal care duties including assisting vets, handling animals, kennel duties, pharmacy tasks and stock management. Our practice is very busy, fast paced and entirely unpredictable. You need to be happy working in such an environment and confident that you maintain a keen eye for detail and accuracy under such conditions.
We pride ourselves on going the extra mile for our clients and their pets. We want every client who walks through our door or who calls us to feel that they have received exceptional service and care. We have a fabulous team and working part of a team is paramount. We all look out for and support each other, and no task is above anyone.
We are open 07:45-19:00 Monday to Friday, 08:30-12:00 on a Saturday and 09:30-11:30 Sunday. The first post holder will work core hours Monday to Friday plus Saturday and Sunday mornings on a rota basis. We will consider part- and full-time applicants. Please indicate your preferred number of weekly hours on your application. We do require the post holder to be able to cover some later finishes (6.30pm-7pm).
The second post is for an individual who wishes to work Saturday mornings only plus some Sunday mornings.
Applicants must be confident with general IT skills including email and Word and happy to learn how to use our practice management system. Experience in a vet practice is not necessary, we are simply looking for the right individuals who enjoy hard work, are excellent communicators (spoken and written), work well in a team, are trustworthy and reliable and have an eye for detail.
In return for your hard work, commitment and support, we offer six weeks’ leave per year plus your birthday off. The starting salaries are calculated per annum and are based on an hourly rate of £13.50 (rising to £13.75 after a successful 3 month probationary period) for over 21s and £12.50 for under 21s. We have fully funded staff social events, ad-hoc lunches and small birthday gifts for all.
