ROLDA UK ROLDA UK activity consists of fundraising and rehoming of Romanian dogs in British homes (including transport of these dogs to UK)

ROLDA work started in Romania to efficiently solve the appalling problem of the country’s millions of homeless animals. Our keys focuses are rescue, rehabilitation and sheltering dogs and cats in our private shelters, rehoming dogs in the UK and other European countries. We also offer practical to low-income pet owners e.g. FriendsForever addressed to seniors with pets. As part of the education ca

mpaign, we distribute coloring books in schools, to teach kids to understand animal needs and respect them. ROLDA campaigns nationally for animal rights and provides humanitarian aid during disasters like the war in Ukraine, floods in Bulgaria. ROLDA UK is a small charity acting as “supporting organization” for the partner charity ROLDA Romania, the “global entity” to:
• raise awareness and financial support for ROLDA Romania for animals in need and for the poor Romanian communities struggling to look after their pets responsibly;
• find homes for rescue dogs by ROLDA Romania team, alongside compiling applications for grants to sustain our work;
• support other programs and campaigns initiated by ROLDA Romania, including providing Worldwide aid to animals and their people located in areas affected by natural of humane made disasters e.g. the war in Ukraine;
• build a network of fosters careers in order to bring dogs over for people to meet before they make a decision and also as a back-up for any unsuccessful adoptions.

Could your workplace or local community help animals in need? 🐾

We’re looking for kind businesses, cafés, shops, salons, community spaces, and workplaces that would be willing to display a small ROLDA collection box or poster with a QR code donation link.

It’s such a simple way to help raise awareness and support for rescue dogs and cats who have nowhere else to turn, and every donation collected helps provide food, medical care, shelter, and second chances.

Over the last 20 years, ROLDA has helped save over 100,000 animals, and support from local communities continues to make that work possible every day.

Nessi should be someone’s lapdog.

Instead, she was found on the frontlines of war in Ukraine, fighting to survive.

She was brought to one of our ROLDA Heroes, Irina, by the military. In the middle of destruction, someone thankfully refused to leave her behind.

Once she was safe at the shelter, the reality of her condition became clear.

Poor Nessi is very ill. She is struggling with heart and lung problems, and her body is weakened by a severe inflammatory condition. Right now, every breath is an effort.

The team are doing everything they can to stabilise her, keep her comfortable, and give her a fighting chance ❤️‍🩹

There are so many dogs and other animals, just like Nessi, impacted by the ongoing conflict that desperately need our help.

We can’t believe Olivia is still waiting for her home 🐾😔

At just 3 years old, Olivia is full of energy and ready to get out into the world with her person. She loves to explore, learn, and be part of whatever is going on, especially when there are treats involved.

She would make an amazing companion for someone who enjoys long walks, training, and keeping their dog engaged. Olivia is eager to learn and has so much potential to grow into a brilliant, well-rounded dog with the right guidance 🥹

She could live with another dog, but would do best in a home without cats, as she finds them a little too interesting. More than anything, Olivia is ready to meet her person and finally have a place to call her own.

Do you remember the puppies who were living in a cemetery? 💔

When they were first rescued, they were too frightened to let anyone near them. For days, they stayed hidden inside the little shelter they had been using for protection, watching the world from a distance and trying to understand where they were.

Now, their lives look completely different 🐾

Both puppies have been adopted by wonderful families and are finally getting to experience all the things they missed out on before: soft beds, peaceful naps, full bellies, and plenty of cuddles.

The same puppies who once hid from people are now learning what it means to feel safe, loved, and completely at home 🥹
