❤️ MAGIC UPDATE ❤️

Well… I’m about to shock you all!

Magic’s leg WASN’T broken.

After her X-rays and assessment, the vets discovered that she was actually suffering from severe nerve paralysis. She had absolutely no feeling in the leg whatsoever. Sadly, because the damage was so severe and there was no chance of recovery, the decision was made to amputate.

The vets believe this kind of injury is usually caused by significant trauma. Whether she got trapped somewhere, caught her leg, was hit by a car, or suffered some other terrible accident, we’ll probably never know. What we do know is that this poor little girl has been trying to survive on the streets with a completely useless leg and no feeling in it whatsoever.

As heartbreaking as amputation sounds, this is actually the best outcome for Magic. The leg could not be saved and was only making life harder for her.

The good news is that cats do incredibly well as what we call “tripods.” They adapt amazingly and go on to live completely normal, happy, playful lives. ❤️

I can’t tell you how relieved I am that she is finally out of pain. No more dragging a dead leg around. No more struggling to survive on the streets. No more suffering alone.

Now she can finally start her new life.

I also want to say a huge THANK YOU to every single person who has donated, shared, commented and supported Magic. The response has been incredible.

So far, you’ve helped us raise an amazing £1,578 towards her treatment bill. That is absolutely wonderful and I’m so grateful.

Unfortunately, Magic’s final bill has come to £2,100.

Combined with Hercules’ emergency treatment earlier this week, our current bill with PetMedics now stands at over £2,600. 💔

We are so close, but we’re not quite there yet.

If anyone can help us with the remaining shortfall, even £1 really does make a difference. Every donation gets us one step closer to covering the cost of saving animals like Magic and Hercules when they need us most.

Most importantly, please keep Magic in your thoughts tonight. She’s had a huge operation and has a road to recovery ahead of her, but she’s already proven just how strong she is.

Just a few days ago she was a terrified little kitten, alone on the streets, fighting to survive. Tonight she’s safe, warm, loved and finally getting the chance she deserves.

I’ll update you all again as soon as she’s home. ❤️🐾

Thank you for believing in her.

Magic really is living up to her name. ✨

💔 URGENT HELP NEEDED FOR MAGIC 💔

I honestly don’t even know where to begin.

On Thursday night, just after we trapped poor Hercules, I got a message about a black kitten in Urmston with a badly broken leg.

I said I couldn’t help.

We’re drowning in vet bills. We have Hercules, a mum cat and her four sick kittens, and so many other animals depending on us right now. The rescue is stretched beyond breaking point.

But I couldn’t stop thinking about her.

I tried. I told myself there was nothing more we could take on. But all I could picture was this tiny kitten out there alone, injured and scared.

So at 11:30pm, I got in the car and went to find her.

And there she was.

Tiny. No more than four months old.

Her little leg was bent completely the wrong way from the wrist. I can’t even begin to imagine the pain she must have been in.

We stayed until 2:30am trying to come up with a plan. There were huge tom cats everywhere, chasing her away from the trap and stealing the food. This tiny baby, with a shattered leg, was having to fight for every scrap just to survive.

It broke me.

This morning, with the incredible help of Debs from Trafford Cat Rescue, we finally got her safe. Without that help, I genuinely don’t think we would have caught her.

She’s not feral.

She’s terrified.

No microchip. No owner. No one looking for her.

Just a baby suffering alone on the streets.

Imagine the pain she has been living with every single day. Imagine trying to run from bigger cats with a leg hanging the wrong way. Imagine trying to find food, shelter and safety when every movement hurts.

I can’t stop thinking about what she’s endured.

She’s now at PetMedics on emergency pain relief. Today she’ll have X-rays so we can find out whether her leg can be saved with splinting or surgery, or whether it will need to be amputated.

We’ve named her Magic.

Because honestly, it’s a miracle she’s still here.

I feel like Hercules sent her to us. Call me crazy, but after everything we’ve been through this week, I can’t shake that feeling.

And just like Hercules, we are not giving up on her.

The problem is the cost.

The initial estimate for X-rays, medication and a two-day hospital stay is already £1,281.02.

If she needs an amputation, we’re looking at another £1,868.

If she needs surgical repair with pins and plates, the total bill could easily exceed £3,200.

We haven’t even received Hercules’ final bill yet.

But none of that changes the fact that she needs help.

She needs us.

And right now, I need you.

Please, if you can spare anything at all, even just a few pounds, it could make the difference for this little girl. If you can’t donate, please share her story. The more people who see this, the better chance we have of raising what she desperately needs.

I made her a promise when I went to her on Thursday.

That she would never suffer alone again.

Now I need your help to keep that promise. ❤️

Update on Hercules 💔

This afternoon we had to make the heartbreaking decision to let Hercules go peacefully.

His wound was far more severe and aggressive than anyone had hoped. The damage and infection had destroyed so much tissue that there was simply no way to close it or repair it. He was in an unbearable amount of pain, and the vets told us he would have had no quality of life moving forward.

We believe Hercules was around 11-14 years old, and after everything he had already endured in his life, the vets advised that the kindest thing we could do for him was to let him pass peacefully rather than face more misery, suffering, and pain.

I am so, so sorry that I couldn’t save him. I threw everything I had at trying to help this boy, and it still wasn’t enough.

I have cried more times than I can count. What breaks me most is knowing Hercules never truly got to experience the comfort, safety, and love that every cat deserves. He spent his whole life fighting just to survive.

And for what?

He deserved warmth. A full belly. A soft bed. Gentle hands. A life without fear or pain.

Even though we couldn’t give him the ending we prayed for, I hope with all my heart he knew, even for a short moment, that people cared about him. That he mattered. That he was loved.

Run free now, Hercules. No more pain, no more fighting. Just peace at last ❤️ I’m sorry 💔

Update on Hercules 💔

This is not the news we were hoping for after posting about Hercules last night. The vets believe the mass may be a tumour 😭

Today Hercules is going in for surgery for debridement, biopsies, FIV/FeLV testing, and neutering. They will also be assessing his mouth whilst he is under anaesthetic, as his tongue has been sticking out 😢

The estimated cost for today alone is between £800–£1200, and I have authorised everything to go ahead because this boy deserves every chance we can give him.

At the moment, if it is confirmed to be a tumour, the vets do not believe they will be able to remove it due to the size and location. Removing it would leave a wound too large to close and would create an even bigger challenge trying to manage an open wound, especially with Hercules being feral.

My heart is absolutely broken. Right now we are desperately hoping for better news when the biopsy results come back.

Please keep Hercules in your thoughts today. He has already been through so much and deserves kindness, comfort, and every bit of hope we can send his way ❤️

Last night, I was tagged over and over again in posts about a cat wandering around our own neighbourhood. A cat so broken, so defeated, that people had started noticing just how bad he really was.

I wanted to go myself immediately… but I had my babies at home and physically couldn’t leave. The guilt I felt sitting there knowing this poor soul was out there suffering was unbearable. So I sent an urgent message into our rescue group chat begging for help.

And as always, my incredible volunteers showed up without hesitation.

They went straight out searching for him. They found him… but he was terrified. Not aggressive. Not feral. Just scared. Six years living as a stray will do that to a soul. Six years of surviving instead of living. Six years of hunger, cold nights, pain and being failed by humans.

He needed someone experienced with trapping and I’ll openly admit that’s not my expertise. I would never risk making things worse for him. So I called Chantelle from Kitty Rescue Bury and without a second thought she dropped everything to help.

And honestly… within 3 hours, the trapping queen had him safe. 💔

Straight down to us.

This boy is now called Hercules. And despite everything he’s been through, despite the fear in his eyes and the horrific wound he’s carrying, he still allowed touches from the person feeding him. That tells me everything I need to know. He isn’t feral. He’s just never known love.

I am absolutely heartbroken for him.

He goes straight to the vets and I already know this is going to be a huge bill. He needs bloods, neutering, FIV/FELV testing and this awful wound treated properly under anaesthetic. We don’t yet know the full extent of what he’s endured internally or externally… but I do know one thing:

For the first time in probably his entire life, Hercules is safe.

No more fighting to survive.
No more suffering alone.
No more being invisible.

We are going to give this boy everything he has always deserved warmth, safety, medical care, full bellies, patience and love. Real love.

I know times are unbelievably hard right now. I know everyone is struggling. But this is what rescue is. We pick up the pieces where humans have failed these animals. We carry the pain so they don’t have to anymore. 💔

If anybody can help Hercules tonight, no matter how small, we would be so grateful. We need to start fundraising immediately so we can cover his surgery and ongoing vet care.

THIS is why people need to start taking responsibility for their animals.

Yesterday, we took in this beautiful mama and her 4 surviving babies after they were finally trapped and brought to safety.

But there should have been 6.

Two of her babies tragically died before help could get to them.

This poor girl has had litter after litter after litter because she was never spayed. She is absolutely riddled with flu, exhausted, and run down and just look at the state of these babies.

Terrified. Unsocialised. Sick. Fighting to survive because people failed them.

Little ginger was hospitalised over the weekend and, thankfully, is now doing much better, but is still over 100 grams smaller than her siblings. She has a long road ahead.

Every single one of them is now on medication and getting the care they desperately needed. Thanks to the incredible rescuers who trapped them and got them to us, they finally have a chance.

But let’s be clear this should never have happened in the first place.

This is the heartbreaking reality rescues, trappers, and rescuers face every single day: picking up the pieces of human irresponsibility, fighting for animals who are suffering simply because nobody did the bare minimum.

NEUTER YOUR MALES. SPAY YOUR FEMALES.

Stop expecting rescues to clean up preventable situations like this.

We will fight for them now, because that’s what we do. But this suffering was avoidable.

Please do better for your animals.
