Here are 3 great reasons why you should start training with your dog!

1️⃣ It builds your bond and strengthens your relationship. You’re working as a team!

2️⃣ Training is a good way to keep their mind active & engaged, helping to improve their overall well-being.

3️⃣ It’s FUN for you AND your dog. Enough said.

We all need to do the best we can for our dogs.

A starting point for their safety is here. We can’t control certain things that happen, however we can control some aspects that will help.

1️⃣ Whatever equipment you use to walk your dog (collar / harness / leads), make sure it fits properly, and is still in working order. Take a minute to check the buckles / straps / clips.

2️⃣ It is the law in England to have an ID tag on your dogs collar / harness. But more importantly in my opinion, you want to have your details on it so that you can be reached if needed.

3️⃣ If you let your dog off leash, and even if you don’t, GPS trackers are a great tool. I’m going to do another post on this but the one I use is AMAZING and called Tractive.

4️⃣ Reflective clothing, jackets, lights or light up collars are so useful for walking in the dark, obviously helping your dog to be seen.

5️⃣ Do your best to concentrate on your dog and the surroundings during walks. We are all guilty of checking our phones and getting distracted, but make a conscious effort to stay focused.
