The Slade K9 Approach: Calm Coexistence First
We don’t rush relationships. Instead, we teach:
Calm engagement around other animals

Respect for boundaries

🐱 Can Puppies and Cats Get Along?

Yes—many do! But the key is slow, calm introductions and respecting the cat’s boundaries.
Safe Cat + Puppy Introduction Plan:
Start with scent swapping
Let them sniff each other’s bedding before meeting face to face.

Use baby gates or a crate
Allow the cat to observe the puppy from a distance while staying safe.

Keep initial meetings short and supervised
Reward your puppy for calm behaviour. Never let them chase or pounce.

Give your cat vertical space and escape routes
Cats need to feel in control. Don’t corner them or expect them to play.

Over time, many cats will tolerate or even bond with dogs—but it takes patience and mutual respect.

🎉 SLADE-K9 IS 2 YEARS OLD TODAY! 🎉

Two years ago, Slade-K9 started with a vision…
A lead in my hand, a pack in front of me, and a promise to do things properly.

Fast-forward 2 years and here we are 🐕🐕🐕
– countless dogs helped
– confidence built on both ends of the lead
– boundaries set, chaos turned into calm
– and a community that truly feels like Ohana (nobody gets left behind).

This journey hasn’t been easy.
There have been long days, early starts, muddy boots, self-doubt, growth pains and lessons learned the hard way — but I wouldn’t change a single step.

Thank you to every client who trusted me with their dog.
Thank you to every dog that taught me something new.
Thank you to everyone who’s supported, shared, recommended, believed and stood by Slade-K9.

🐾 Future Pack Member Incoming… 🐾

This little bundle (or one of them 👀) will be joining the Slade-K9 pack in January 💪🐶

Right now they’re still with mum, learning those all-important early life lessons with their littermates — but their humans have already chosen us to walk, guide and train them as they grow.

We don’t yet know which pup will be stepping into their Slade-K9 journey…
But one thing’s for sure — they’ll be starting out with structure, confidence, clear boundaries and the right foundations from day one.

January can’t come soon enough 🐾
