🌱 Grass Seed Season is Here! 🌱

As the weather warms up and grasses begin to seed, we’re seeing more pets with painful grass seed injuries!

Grass seeds can easily become trapped in your dog’s paws, ears, eyes, nose, or coat. If left untreated, they can migrate under the skin and cause serious infections and discomfort.

🐾 Check your pet after every walk, especially if they’ve been in long grass.
🐾 Pay close attention to paws, ears, armpits, and between the toes.
🐾 Watch for signs such as excessive licking, head shaking, sneezing, swelling, or sudden discomfort.

☀️🐾 Hot weather can be dangerous for our furry friends! As temperatures rise, pets are at greater risk of heatstroke which can become life-threatening very quickly.

Here are a few simple ways to keep your pets safe this summer:
💧 Always provide fresh, cool water
🌳 Make sure they have plenty of shade and ventilation
🚶 Walk dogs during cooler parts of the day (early morning/late evening)
🚗 Never leave pets in parked cars
🧊 Use cooling mats, damp towels, or frozen water bottles to help them stay cool

Watch out for signs of heatstroke, including:
⚠️ Excessive panting
⚠️ Drooling
⚠️ Vomiting or diarrhoea
⚠️ Lethargy or weakness
⚠️ Bright red gums

If you suspect heatstroke, contact your vet immediately. Early treatment can save lives. ❤️🐶🐱🐰

Everyone meet Bella😍

Bella came in yesterday for a general health check. Regular health check visits are one of the best ways to keep animals healthy, comfortable, and living longer lives. Just like people, animals can develop health problems that are difficult to notice early on.🩺

During a health check visit, veterinarians can monitor weight, dental health, heart function, skin condition, mobility, and overall health. 🦷

Healthy animals are happier, more active, and better able to enjoy life. Routine health checks are not only about treating illness, they are about protecting long-term wellbeing and ensuring animals receive the care they deserve throughout every stage of life.🐕

Bella was such a good girl and enjoyed some yummy treats afterwards🐶🦴

George was in with us today for a routine procedure, and he was an absolute star from start to finish 🐾

He handled everything so calmly and is now back home resting comfortably (and hopefully enjoying a few extra treats and cuddles!). We’re so proud of how well he did and wish him a smooth and speedy recovery 💙

The road access might be reduced or slowed at the back of Greggs on the way to the practice on Saturday 11th April and Sunday 12th April. This is due to South Eastern Water needed to add a new water feed in to the new housing estate – We will keep you updated.

Unfortunately we have had a deceased black and white male entire cat handed in by a member of the public. He was found near brewer street and not microchipped if you believe you this might be your cat please contact us on 01622758737 ‼️
