Hi to all our clients and their lovely horses..
We are as busy as ever, so a big 'thank-you' to all you clients that stay with us and recommend us. Being too busy is a lovely problem to have!
We really do not want to let our standards slip, but the sheer amount of cases we are seeing and the admin and follow ups that come with them are making things a little tricky to manage. We also feel very frustrated when we cannot revisit cases quickly when it’s needed.
We have made the decision to really cut down on ambulatory visits, with the exception of the cases that should not travel after a period of box rest etc. It has not been easy to make this decision but we need to be able to manage our case load to maintain a high standard of quality and care. The travel time required to get from appointments, combined with only seeing one horse at a time, is very much at the expense of potentially seeing three cases at the clinic. Just one hour on the road to a yard and an hour back, to work up a lameness correctly just doesn’t work, and we almost always feel we could have done a better job/taken better images etc at the clinic.
We appreciate this is not the ideal situation for everyone and we do apologise for any inconvenience this will cause, but we truly feel this is the best way to take the practice forward, offer the best care and enable us to carry out administrative duties in a timely manner while also having time to cut down on our waiting list.
We do understand that some of you may feel that you might rather have your horse seen in the yard by another practice, rather than travel them to us, and we will always support your wishes in that regard.
If you have any questions regarding this decision please feel free to get in touch.
In the meantime, happy riding in this lovely weather!
The Sounder Equine Team.
