Meet Maggie ❤️
Maggie visited us after developing a very sore paw. We removed a grass seed but when she was still uncomfortable and not healing how we’d like, we suspected there might be another grass seed hiding deeper.
A CT scan confirmed our suspicions - see pink arrows in image 2! We then could surgically remove it and now we’re so happy she is finally bandage free!
Grass seeds can enter the skin and migrate quickly so it’s a good idea to check dogs paws after walks, steer clear of long grass and if you notice any of their paws are sore, red or a bump appears, then to have them seen by us! They don’t just cause problems in paws - they can commonly find their way into ears, eyes and noses too so if you notice any head shaking, sneezing or squinting then let us know 💛🐾
Maggie was a super brave patient and we’re so happy she’s on the mend (and hopefully staying away from any more pesky grass seeds! 🌾)
