Every year, we care for around 300 cats and dogs who are lost, abandoned, neglected, unwanted or given up because their owners can no longer care for them. If you would like to adopt a cat or dog, our current animals for adoption, and more information on the process, is available on our website. We rely on the generosity of our supporters and local community to keep our doors open to the hundreds

of animals who need our help. You can find out about the different ways to support us in the 'Get Involved' section on our website. You can also donate directly to L.A.A. through this page, just click on the Donate button. Our amazing Ambassador, Barrie Stephen, came up with the fab idea of hosting Supper Clubs to raise much-needed funds for our cats and dogs. 🐱🐶 The first one was a sell-out, and this one is heading that way too!

So, if you're up for a great night out with delicious food come and join us on Monday 2nd June at The Wild Tango, King Street, Leicester. Tickets are just £40 which includes a three-course meal and welcome drink. Drop an email to [email protected] to get your tickets. Be quick or you'll miss out!!

It's London Marathon Day! We want to say good luck to everyone taking part, especially our amazing runner, local Tesco manager, Scott Draycott.

Whilst we can't be there cheering him on from the sidelines, cute kittie, Oreo and handsome boy, Scout, want him to know that we're all rooting for him. 🐱🐶

1 year old Benji is a Collie x Hunterway. A leggy, energetic boy with so much love to give! Benji is adored by everyone, but due to the lack of socialisation as a puppy he can be unsure of new people and other dogs, hence why he is still with us. Benji is seeking a quiet lifestyle and dreams of the open countryside where he can enjoy his new life without other animals, children and plenty of his owners time.

⭐️Let’s meet L.A.A.'s Stars of the Month⭐️

⭐️This month’s Volunteer Star of the Month, Michaela Griffin, has been with L.A.A. for three years. She started off by giving her time to sit with the dogs but now volunteers with the Cattery team. Michaela’s gentle, calming nature helps the more nervous residents to feel settled and her help with grooming and socialising is much appreciated. The Cattery team say its evident how much she cares for the cats and will do anything she can for them, always putting their needs first. 🐱

⭐️We’re keeping with the Cattery for our Staff Star of the Month, which goes to Amelia Dawson who joined the team to cover maternity leave. Thanks to her determination, positivity and willingness to learn she has succeeded in every aspect of her role. Amelia puts 110% effort into every task given to her and has always gone above and beyond to ensure that the cats in her care are happy, healthy and content. Sadly, Amelia will be leaving us soon and everyone will miss her, especially the cats! 🐱

Congratulations to Michaela and Amelia you're both pawsome! 🐱🐱

Just come along on Saturday 19th April between 11am and 2pm and ask at reception for a trail. It's just £1 to enter and if you complete the trail, you'll be rewarded with an Easter activity pack. 🐣

Would you know what to do if your pet was injured? We still have places left on our Dog First Aid and Cat First Aid courses (that's 2 separate courses) on Saturday, 17th May. These 3 hour sessions are suitable for those 'in the trade' and domestic pet owners alike. Common accidents and injuries, bandaging, CPR and much more is covered. The courses are informative, hands-on and you get a certificate at the end.
