Every year, we care for around 300 cats and dogs who are lost, abandoned, neglected, unwanted or given up because their owners can no longer care for them. If you would like to adopt a cat or dog, our current animals for adoption, and more information on the process, is available on our website. If you need to rehome your cat or dog please call the Centre. We rely on the generosity of our supporte

rs and local community to keep our doors open to the hundreds of animals who need our help. You can find out about the different ways to support us in the 'Get Involved' section on our website. 🐶 Our dog show is this Sunday! 🐶 We'll be at Huncote Sports and Social Club and we hope you and your four-legged friends will be too! Paws crossed that the weather forecast doesn't change as it's looking to be perfect conditions for the event. 😀

You'll find refreshments including cobs, scones with jam and cream, tea, coffee and a full bar in the Club House. There will be pet-related stalls, have-a-go agility, tombola, raffle and of course our fun dog show which has been kindly sponsored by Wilson Browne Solicitors.

Just a few reminders for the day:
🅿 There is free parking in the ground and it's free to enter
🐶 The dog show starts at 1pm, gates open at 12 noon
🐾 There are seven fun rounds, it's £2.50 to enter per round (full details of classes and running order are on the pinned post above).
💷We'd love it if you could have cash as card facilities will be limited

We're so excited to share the news that Eric (pictured) and Ernie, who are the stars of our K9 Kids Workshops, were nominated for the BBC Make a Difference (Radio Leicester) - Animal Award, and have been chosen as finalists! 🐶🐶

The boys, together with their human Shane, go into schools, visit different groups and run workshops to help children learn how to be safe around dogs and to give those who are worried a bit more confidence. Shane is quite rightly super-proud of them both and said that they love every minute of it.

Lots of tiny mouths to feed - can you help? 🐱🐱🐱🐱

We have more than 20 cute bundles of fluff in our nursery and as you can imagine we're getting through a tremendous amount of food!

It would be meow-vellous if you could help our kittens by donating kitten food, especially Purina Dry and Felix As Good As It Looks wet food which we're running low on.

Snuggle monster Pirelli 😁

Legs tucked under and away we go! A flash of light when excited, Pirelli is a lover of many activities, his main one being cuddles on the sofa and under a person’s arm, all safe and snug ❤
A wee stunner, Pirelli is easy to handle, groom, walk and is content staying indoors when extreme weather occurs. A lover of toys; squeakies and footballs are his favourite and he will never turn down a yummy chew or piece of chicken snuck into his dinner.
Pirelli gets around and has met many visitors to the centre and enjoys his photoshoots and gracefully receiving cuddles and donated items. You may recognise him....he is quite famous 🌟

Home sweet home! 🐶🐾

We're so happy that Puddle, who came into the Centre in January at just eight months old, has found his forever home.🥰 As well as a home, he also has a new name, Artie. 🥰

His new family say they are truly obsessed with him! We hear that from the moment he came home he's been so cuddly and snuggly although he still has lots of energy! He's really enjoying his puppy classes where he's meeting lots of new doggy friends. 🐶

We're over the moon for Artie and his new family and we know they will have the best time together making memories.

This Sunday - Spring Dog Show at Huncote Sports and Social Club! 🐶🐾

We hope you and your four-legged friends will come and join us for an afternoon of fun and fundraising! 🐶 We are keeping a close watch on the weather forecast and at the moment it looks the perfect temperature. We'll keep you posted if anything changes.

It's free to enter and there is free parking. There is a charge to enter the dog show classes. We'd love cash but will have access to a card machine. A full bar will be available in the Club House along with refreshments including cobs, cakes, tea and coffee. There will be stalls with pet-related items, raffle, tombola and an ice cream van. If your dog wants to let off some steam, then head to the 'have-a-go' agility where they can race against the clock or just have a potter!

We're very grateful to Wilson Browne Solicitors for sponsoring the dog show. The winner of each class will receive a trophy and rosette and there will be rosettes for 2nd and 3rd place. Registration opens from 12 until just before your class begins, judging of the first class starts at 1pm. Entry is £2.50 per dog, per class. Friendly dogs are welcome, whether they’re pedigree or crossbreed, small or large, pup or senior, or somewhere in between.

Running order:

Golden Oldie (8+), Best Youngster (3 and under), Best Rescue, Waggiest Tai,
Best Male, Best Female and All Comers - open to any dog.

It's Volunteers' Week 🐱🐶🐾

Our two gorgeous girls - Ruby and Tia - want to join all the staff in saying a big thank you to all our volunteers who work tirelessly to help us take care of cats and dogs in need, just like them. 🐱🐶

Whether you assist our kennel and cattery teams by dog walking, pet sitting, cleaning and grooming, work in our Charity shops, help out at fundraising events, use your skills as a trustee, collect items from supermarkets or help keep our grounds looking blooming lovely, you are at the heart of what we do and we are so grateful. 🥰

Thank you to all our volunteers, past and present, who have given up countless hours to help us, all sharing one thing in common – the desire to make a real difference to the lives of cats and dogs in need. 🐶🐱
