An update on Alanta the tortoise 🐢

Alanta has been seeing vet Chloe due to poor recovery after hibernation. Alanta is still not eating voluntarily; therefore she visited us recently for a feeding tube placement. How cute is her bandage! 🦖🤩

Wilson the superhero 🦸

Wilson recently gave another Ferret a second chance at life by donating blood! His owner kindly consented for Wilson to donate blood whilst he was visiting for castration. We had a severely ill ferret patient with us who required a blood transfusion to give him any chance of recovery.

A huge thank you to Wilson and his owner for such a selfless gift!

We are currently looking for dogs to join our blood donor list, this would involve your dog being on a call list in case of an emergency requiring an urgent blood transfusion. We are looking for calm dogs over 25kg with no medical conditions. If your dog gives blood they will receive a certificate and goody bag. If your dog is a potential candidate, please contact the practice to discuss their eligibility!

A Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) isn’t just a job title - it’s a professional qualification.
RVNs have completed extensive training, passed recognised exams and are registered with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, meaning they follow strict professional standards and continue learning throughout their careers.
They play a vital role in your pet’s care - from monitoring anaesthetics and assisting in surgery, to running clinics, supporting recovery and helping owners keep their pets happy and healthy
This Veterinary Nursing Awareness Month, we’re celebrating the skill, compassion and dedication our nursing team brings every single day.

Heatstroke cases in pets are all too common; share the below far and wide!

Many dogs get heatstroke when their owners take them out during high temperatures. Let's prevent heatstroke by knowing when it's safe to take your dog outside, and please contact us if you think your dog might have heatstroke!
And remember to keep your pets hydrated and are given plenty of shade.

Enjoy the sunshine, but please keep tabs on your pets x
