Veterinary Nursing Awareness Month – May 2026
💜 Shout out to our amazing team of nurses!💜

Do you know a veterinary nurse who has made a lasting difference? Throughout May, for , BVNA will be inviting veterinary clients and colleagues to shine a light on the registered veterinary nurses (RVNs) and student veterinary nurses (SVNs) who give so much of themselves, often behind the scenes and without recognition. 💜
Perhaps you know a veterinary nurse who has:
✅ Sat with you when your animal was unwell or at the end of their life ✅ Offered kindness, patience, or reassurance when emotions ran high ✅ Treated your pet with dignity, gentleness, and genuine love ✅ Supported you in ways you’ll never forget, even if you never had the words at the time 💜
Nominations are invited from:
✅ Clients, whose lives and animals have been touched by compassionate veterinary nursing care ✅ Colleagues, who witness daily the emotional labour, professionalism, and dedication that often goes unseen 💜

Simply complete a short nomination form highlighting how a veterinary nurse has supported you, your animal, or your workplace. One winner and runner-up will be selected from both individual and team entries, winning a prize worth up to £250!

Thank you for helping BVNA to honour the veterinary nurses who care quietly, selflessly, and wholeheartedly — every single day.

Important Update for Clients Travelling to the EU with Pets

If you’re planning to travel to the EU this summer with your pet, please be aware of an important upcoming change.

From 22nd April 2026, European pet passports held by pet owners living in Great Britain will no longer be valid for travel from GB to the EU. This applies to all EU pet passports, including those previously issued in Ireland and Northern Ireland.

EU pet passports will only be valid for individuals whose primary residence is within the EU.

For clients travelling from Great Britain with dogs, cats, or ferrets, an Animal Health Certificate (AHC) will be required for each trip from this date. There are currently no changes to the requirements for returning to Great Britain.

If you have travel plans coming up, we strongly recommend contacting us as soon as possible so we can help arrange the necessary documentation and ensure everything is in place for your trip.

If you believe you’ll need an AHC, please get in touch with the team at Godiva Veterinary Clinic — we’re here to help make travelling with your pet as smooth and stress-free as possible.
