Northern Animal Rescue Alliance

Northern Animal Rescue Alliance NARA is a volunteer run, foster home based rescue located in Terrace BC. To apply to become a foster home please contact us at [email protected]

We are a completely volunteer run home-based rescue, we have no building to hold animals in our care. We are advocates for abused, neglected and abandoned animals in the community of Terrace and surrounding area. Our mission is to provide means to a better life for all animals that come into our care, whether that means providing rescue placement, short-term care, rehabilitation for illness and in

jury or providing sanctuary for the old and un-adoptable. We remain accountable for the animals in our care for the entirety of their lives; ensuring they are provided with everything necessary to live a happy healthy life. We promote the responsible humane treatment of all pets which includes Spay and Neuter.

Hello all our followers!

We just wanted to let you know how we're doing......as of last night we are closed for intake. We currently have 5 Mums and 27 kittens in our care in 7 foster homes.
(We have to stop intake at some point to allow for space to become available as we adopt out our animals. We need to know where they will be going before we can intake more. With shelters all over BC at capacity we can not easily transfer them if they are not adopted)

We get an astounding amount of requests daily for help with dumped cats, stray cats spraying, animals needing new homes. Unfortunately, these cases are not emergencies or true rescues, which is all we can manage as such a small at home rescue.

Thank you all for your understanding and continued support with bottle donations at our bottle drop off at 2410 Kenney Street.

Available for adoption, as part of NARA's 'Seniors for Seniors' Program. All Veterinary costs will be covered by NARA and there's no adoption fee - the correct home is our priority.
Angel is a very sweet older girl with some associated health issues. Her hips are not great so she doesn't want an active home, just a lovely human companion who can let her out into a secure yard to do her business and then let her lie on her bed and soak up the love. She, adorably, smiles with teeth and waggy tail.

UPDATE: Thomasina has been adopted ❤️

Rocky & Thomasina are STILL in search of their Furever homes. If you are not in the position to adopt please share our post so we have as much exposure as possible. Thanks friends! ❤️

Rocky is 3.5 months old and the last to be adopted from his litter. He’s a little shy but very sweet. He may need time to open up, but once he does he’s so lovable and friendly. Has cute little purrs and loves being close. Would do great in a home with a cat as he loves and looks for companionship. Loves cuddles and soft food, really likes watching tv or movies with you. He is up to date on his vaccines. The cost to adopt a kitten at NARA is $200, with $100 refunded once neutered.

Thomasina is really coming out of her shell and thriving in her foster home. She LOVES other cats and does well around dogs. As soon as she feels safe you will be rewarded with endless purrs and head rubs as she seeks cuddles and affection. She really has a lovely personality and a beautiful soft coat. Thomasina is approx 7 months, has been spayed, microchipped, and is up to date on all vaccines. The cost to adopt an adult spayed cat at NARA is only $150.

If you are interested in meeting Rocky or Thomasina, please fill out an adoption form or connect with NARA if you have already been approved!

NARA is still looking for the owner of the injured male cat from Lower Thornhill (Paquette area). He came in completely paralysed behind and spent 3 days with our vet. He had a very significant spinal injury, causing a compression of his spinal cord. With medication and rest, he should make a full recovery (🤞).
He's in an experienced foster home on crate rest with supervised floor time.
Things are looking up for Patrick (He was found on St Patrick's Day) but he's so friendly - he must have an owner. Check out the video!
If he remains unclaimed, he'll be neutered in around 3 weeks and will then go up for adoption.
