One of the three surviving bottle babies has officially found her forever home!

I can now officially confirm that these little bottle bunnies are at least part Flemish Giant—and this beautiful girl is the first to be adopted.

Congratulations to PNGI - The Provincial Networking Group Inc. on welcoming this sweet bunny into your family!

I can't wait to see what you decide to name her. Rumour has it there's a naming contest in the works... 👀🐰

Tis the season!

🐰 Important Reminder About Baby Rabbits (Kits) 🐰

If you come across a nest of baby rabbits, please don't assume that they have been abandoned.

Mother rabbits stay away from the nest on purpose to avoid attracting predators. They return quietly just once or twice a day (usually early morning and evening) to feed their babies, so it’s rare to ever see her there.

💡 What to do:

-Observe from a distance
-Keep pets and people away from the nest
-Leave the babies where they are

🚨 Only intervene if:

-The babies are clearly injured or in immediate danger
-The nest has been destroyed
-The mother is confirmed deceased

In most cases, the best way to help is simply to leave them alone. Their mother is likely nearby and caring for them exactly as she should.

First rescues of the year! And right on Easter! 🐰

These four babies were found right in my back yard! My dogs found the nest, and yet while they didnt hurt them, and I put the nest back together and let them be for 24 hours, but momma never came back to feed them.

Originally five babies were brought inside, but unfortunately one passed away last night.

Bottle baby bunnies are extremely difficult, and have a 90% mortality rate. These four that remain are doing super well! Approximately a week old when discovered, their eyes are now open and they are adjusting to syringe feeding very well.

This spring, if you find a nest of baby bunnies in your back yard, dont forget to leave them be unless...

1. The nest has been destroyed and momma hasnt been back for 24 hours (you likely wont see her come, but you can see if the babies have been fed if they have a nice plump belly)

2. Babies are weak, wrinkly and have sunken bellies

3. Babies that are under 10 days old (eyes are still closed) are out of the nest

4. You know momma has passed away

First rescues of the year! Here is one of four bottle babies being fed.

While feeding we have to be careful to make sure that we dont force too much milk into the babies mouth but let them take it on their own. This little one had finally gotten the hang of the syringe.
