What an incredible trip! I’ve learned so much in such a short time, and I’m so grateful for the experience. The atmosphere at The Foxy Hound was amazing — full of passion, creativity, and support. Thank you, Melissa, for pushing me to grow, helping me gain confidence, and reminding me how much I love what I do. I truly believe that to be a great groomer, you have to stay curious, keep learning, and never stop being a student. ❤️✂️🐾

The shop will be open Saturday and remain open with its regular hours, I will get to everyone’s messages as soon as possible.

As a professional groomer, there’s always something new to learn — continuing education is a big part of providing the best care and grooming experience possible. I’m excited to further develop my skills and bring back new techniques to share with all of you!

Melissa has been grooming professionally for over 12 years. She opened her salon, The Foxy Hound, in Chilliwack, BC, eight years ago and began grooming competitively in 2019. As her business experienced rapid growth, Melissa started training her own staff—discovering a love for education that quickly became a major passion. This passion led her to create West Coast Groom Fest, BC's premier grooming event, in 2022.

Melissa has since educated groomers in both large and small groups across Canada and the U.S.

In addition to teaching, Melissa has a deep love for competitive grooming. She has earned numerous top placements at high-level competitions, including titles such as Best All Around Groomer and multiple Best in Show wins. In 2025, Melissa ranked #2 overall in the country and #1 in the Poodle division—qualifying her to join Groom Team Canada and compete at the World Championships in 2026, a dream she’s held since her very first competition.
