❤️ 15 DOGS. 15 DAYS. ONE BIG GOAL. ❤️

Today we're kicking off our 15-day series!

For the next 15 days, we'll be featuring a new pup each day as we work towards continuing to raise $15,000 to help cover Arlo's surgery costs. His surgeries helped treat a painful ear condition that affected his hearing and quality of life.

Every dog deserves a life free from pain. Help us give Arlo, and the pups who come after him, the second chance they deserve.

🐾 Day 1: Otter

Sweet little Otter was once a tiny puppy rescued from Manitoba who faced a very difficult start to life. Shortly after her rescue, she tested positive for Parvo and was hospitalized for three days, receiving round-the-clock treatment, fluids, medications, and constant monitoring. Once she was stable enough to come home, she continued her recovery under a strict two-week quarantine. She was tiny, fragile, and had a long road ahead, but she fought so hard❤️

Thankfully, Otter made a full recovery and left that difficult chapter behind. 🐾❤️ Not long after, she found her forever home and finally got the happy, healthy life she deserved. From a little puppy fighting for her life to a loved and cherished family member. Today, her Parvo battle is part of her past and a reminder of just how far this little fighter came and why every rescue is worth fighting for.

🐾 MEET TIMMY! 🐾

🏡 LEARNING THE BASICS

Timmy is a clever little guy who’s working hard on his commands and puppy basics. His passion for food certainly helps keep him motivated!

• Crate training: Going well! Timmy waits patiently to come out, then greets you with plenty of affection.
• Potty training: In progress! He’s learning and will need regular potty breaks and a consistent routine.
• Walks and leash skills: Not yet going for outdoor walks due to vaccine status. Neighbourhood adventures are still ahead!
• Puppy manners: Timmy can be a bit of a baby shark and sometimes likes to climb on things. He’s learning boundaries and working on redirecting those puppy teeth toward toys.

💛 WHAT MAKES TIMMY SPECIAL

Small but mighty, Timmy has plenty of confidence and loves carrying toys around the house that are practically the same size as he is. He takes his toy transportation duties very seriously!

He also has his own little language. Rather than barking, Timmy sometimes shares his thoughts through unique chatter. Add in his wonderfully dramatic yawns, as though he’s just finished a hard day at the office, and you’ve got a bit of a drama king. He has mastered the commands sit, down, paw, spin, place and crate

Underneath all that personality is a very cuddly boy. Give him the slightest opportunity and he’ll happily settle in for affection. He’s also already accustomed to apartment noises and takes them in stride.

• Puppy manners: Like many teething puppies, Rusty can get a little nippy during play, but he’s easily redirected toward toys and appropriate things to chew.

💛 WHAT MAKES RUSTY SPECIAL

Nobody welcomes you quite like Rusty! Expect happy wiggles, enthusiastic tail wags, snuggles, kisses, and sometimes even a little yelp of joy. This tiny ball of charm puts his whole heart into saying hello.

Curious, friendly, and confident, Rusty wants to be part of whatever’s happening. He can be briefly hesitant in a new situation, but warms up quickly because he doesn’t want to miss a thing! He loves following the people and dogs in his foster home, ready to join in on any fun.

Rusty is also happy to entertain himself with his toys. He’s even figured out how to toss his own ball, because sometimes a boy has to get the game going himself!

Playful and sweet, Rusty is eager to learn and delighted by a tasty reward or an encouraging word. His love of both food and praise makes him a lovely little training partner.

• Puppy manners: Like many puppies, Lilac can get a little nippy when playing. She’s working on redirecting those busy puppy teeth toward toys and appropriate things to chew.

💛 WHAT MAKES LILAC SPECIAL

Lilac loves to play, and she already knows how to fetch! Bright and eager to learn, she’ll be a fun companion for someone who enjoys teaching new skills and watching a puppy figure things out. She also loves putting her nose to work, taking time to sniff and investigate whatever catches her interest.

When playtime is over, Lilac’s favourite place is wherever you are. She’s an affectionate little shadow who will happily turn your feet into a pillow for her next nap. Whether you’re playing together or simply spending a quiet moment at home, she loves being close.

Lilac would happily make friends with dogs, cats, and people alike. Thoughtful introductions and continued positive experiences will help her build those friendships as she grows.

Size: Most likely medium to large when fully grown.
Energy level: Medium

Kids: Untested but likely good due to friendly nature

Medical: Vaccinated, will be neutered when age appropriate. Cost covered by rescue.

Meet Buddeh! A typical puppy, he alternates between high energy and naps. He is good at entertaining himself with his toys and is good at solving dog puzzles. Like all puppies, he must be occasionally re-directed to appropriate things to chew. He is smart and understands a firm “no”.

Buddeh is crate and house-trained but some regression should be expected when he moves into his forever home. His adoptive family should be ready to work on re-training.
He is very food motivated and easily trainable. He already knows lots of commands such as sit, shake, down. He is working on learning leave it, and stay/come!

Buddeh is affectionate and loves a good head rub. He likes his family to be together and will often wait by the door if someone has gone out.

An absolute goofball, Arlo’s unique personality will keep his forever family laughing. He’s also an absolute love bug and will happily present his butt for scratches to most people he meets. Like a lot of friendly big dogs, Arlo is convinced that he is the perfect size to be a lap dog, regardless of the size of the lap.

Hi, my name is Finnette, but my friends call me Finny!

My foster mom says I have the best energy level. Outside, I’m up for anything, whether we’re just going for a walk, playing a game of fetch, or hiking in the forest. I’m also a great running partner! Once I’m back inside, just flip my off switch, and I’m perfectly happy snoozing on my bed or snuggling up with my person on the couch. I’m a great little spoon, with zero concept of personal space. Occasionally I’ll ask if you’re up for a bit of wrestling by making my grunty gremlin noises, and if you laugh, I know it’s game on! If you aren’t in the mood, got it. Let’s just snuggle instead.

If you absolutely must go out and leave me (and frankly why would you), I’m really good at being alone. I’m not a huge fan of my crate, but no problemo, because I am a very good girl when left loose in the house. I usually just nap the day away, dreaming of the moment we’ll be reunited. And when you come home, I’ll greet you with a welcome home parade, complete with happy hippity hops, spins, and full body wiggle wags.

I’m a very happy girl, and I bring joy and enthusiasm to just about everything I do. When meeting new dogs, I tend to get pretty excited and bark, so I do best with slow introductions while I remind myself to “be cool, Finny, be cool!”. I’d love the chance to make more dog friends. I’m an enthusiastic learner too, and I love learning new tricks and commands.

In a nutshell, I’m a very silly and sweet girl who loves her people with her whole heart. If you’re looking for a fun-loving adventure buddy and world class snuggler, I could be your girl!

Hi, I’m Boots! ❤️ I’m an adorable little puppy with a happy tail, the cutest tippy taps and enough excitement to make just about anything feel like the best thing ever!

I’m a very lovable girl who wants to be wherever my people are. Whether we’re cuddling together, playing outside or simply hanging out, I’m happiest when I get to be by your side. I love a good game of ball chase and scampering around the yard, but I also know the importance of a good nap after all that puppy business. Play hard, nap hard… that’s my motto! 💤

I’m also a big fan of other dogs! I live with two older dogs right now, and I love following them around and learning from them. Having canine friends to play with makes me very happy, and I’d love to have opportunities to keep socializing with other friendly, appropriate dogs as I grow up.

I’m still a little baby, so I’m learning all about how to be a well-mannered member of the family. My crate training is coming along really well for my age, and I’m making great progress with potty training, too. I’ll need my new family to keep working on both as I grow, because I’m definitely not finished learning just yet!

I’m also in my puppy shark era 🦈 . Sometimes I get excited and want to chew on things, including my leash, so I’ll need someone who can gently redirect me toward appropriate toys and help me learn what’s okay to chew. I’m not trying to be naughty; I’m just a puppy exploring the world with my mouth!

When we’re outside, I’ve been doing a lovely job of staying close to my foster and my recall is surprisingly good for such a little girl. I’m still learning how to walk on a leash properly, though, so we’ll need to keep practising together as I grow and discover all the exciting things the world has to offer.

Hi, I’m Patches! ❤️

I’m a very handsome little guy with a big personality, a clever brain and a set of puppy-dog eyes that could probably get me out of just about anything. My foster says I’m very sweet and loving, and I get SO excited when my people come back that I can barely contain myself!

I have what you might call stop-and-go energy. When I’m awake and out of my crate, I’m ready to play, run around the yard and investigate absolutely everything. Once I’ve had my fill of fun, though, I’m happy to settle down in my crate for a nap.

I’m a pretty smart little cookie, too. I already know how to sit and shake a paw, I can figure out treat puzzles, and I love playing fetch. Sometimes I even bring the toy back! When I chase or pounce on a toy, I have the silliest little pounce that is sure to make you laugh. I’m also VERY food motivated. If treats are involved, you have my full attention, and I’m usually willing to work hard to get them.

Of course, I’m still a puppy, and I’m learning how to use all that intelligence for good. When I get excited, I can nip at hands, feet, ankles and pants, especially when we’re outside playing. I also explore the world with my mouth, which means I may try to pick up things I really shouldn’t. Shoes are a particular favourite of mine, and if one is within reach, I’ll be tempted to carry it off like my own personal treasure.

I’m looking for a family who understands that these are puppy behaviours that need consistent training, redirection and patience. I’m learning to listen to commands and manage my excitement, and I’ll need my people to help me practise as I grow. I’m clever and eager when there’s something worthwhile to work for, so positive training and plenty of mental stimulation will be important for me.
