🌟 Adoption Spotlight: Mara 🌟

Earlier this summer, sweet Mara was abandoned in a box on the shelter’s front lawn. While we may never know how she ended up there, we do know she deserves a future filled with love, safety, and kindness.

Working at an animal shelter isn’t just a job, it’s an emotional commitment. Our staff celebrate every adoption, worry about every sick animal, stay late when needed, and never stop hoping for the ones still waiting for a family.

There are hard days, heartbreaking days, and incredibly rewarding days. Through it all, our team continues to show up with kindness, patience, and unwavering dedication because every animal deserves love and a chance at a better life.

We are incredibly proud of our staff and so grateful for everything they do, often behind the scenes and without recognition. Thank you for treating every animal as if they were your own.

A huge thank you to Brinley and Colton for choosing the Arnprior Humane Society as the recipient of the proceeds from their lemonade stand last Saturday! 🍋💛

These two amazing kids worked so hard and raised an incredible $445 to help the animals in our care. We are so grateful for their kindness, generosity, and big hearts.

Support like this reminds us that you’re never too young to make a difference. Thank you, Brinley and Colton, for helping shelter pets in need—we are so lucky to have caring young supporters like you! 🐱🐶💙

📢 Civic Holiday Weekend Hours 🐾

Just a reminder that the Arnprior & District Humane Society will be closed for the Civic Holiday weekend.

We will reopen on Tuesday, August 4, and resume our regular business hours.

If you have an animal emergency while we are closed, please contact your local animal control or an emergency veterinary clinic.

🐾 Adoption Spotlight: Junie 🐾

Meet Junie, a beautiful 3-year-old dilute calico who’s ready to find the loving home she deserves. ❤️

Junie came to us after being surrendered by her previous owner, and she’s been winning hearts ever since. She’s a social, outgoing girl who loves to chat and will happily tell you all about her day! Whether she’s greeting visitors or asking for a little attention, Junie’s sweet personality shines through.

She’s currently staying at Almonte Pet Valu, patiently waiting for that special someone to walk through the door.

🌟 Adoption Spotlight – Daisy 🌟

After a few months of love, care, and recovery, Daisy is finally ready to find a forever home of her own. 💙

Daisy came to the shelter back in April in very poor condition. She was suffering from painful entropion, requiring surgery to repair both of her eyes, and she battled through a serious illness with lots of TLC from our staff and veterinary team. Watching her transform into the happy, healthy cat she is today has been incredibly rewarding.

Now it’s Daisy’s turn to start the next chapter of her life.

At approximately 6 years old, Daisy is a super sweet, affectionate girl who gets along wonderfully with everyone she meets. She enjoys attention, has a gentle nature, and would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a loving feline friend.

Daisy has overcome so much, and we think she’s more than earned the happy ending she’s been waiting for.
