Today, on World Pet Memorial Day, we take a moment to remember the beloved pets who have left paw prints on our hearts forever.

Whether they were with us for many years or only a short time, our pets become cherished members of our families. They greet us at the door, comfort us on difficult days, make us laugh with their silly antics, and love us unconditionally.

Today we honour the memories of those special companions who are no longer by our side but will never be forgotten. Their love lives on in the stories we tell, the photos we treasure, and the memories we hold close to our hearts.

🐾 Toonie Tuesday – Four Boys, One Fresh Start 🐾

Last week, these four boys were found abandoned near Kinburn, scared, confused, and left to fend for themselves.

Today, they’re safe in our care, but they still have a long road ahead. Before they can be adopted, each cat will need a full veterinary examination, vaccinations, parasite treatment, and neuter surgery.

As you can imagine, the costs add up quickly when four cats arrive at once.

This Toonie Tuesday, we’re asking for your help. Whether it’s a toonie, a few dollars, or a larger donation, every contribution goes directly toward the care these boys need to become healthy, happy, and ready for loving homes.

🐾 Adoption Spotlight: Charlie & Cody 🐾

Meet Charlie and Cody, a handsome bonded pair looking for a loving home together. ❤️

These sweet boys came to the shelter when their owner was no longer able to care for them. The change has been difficult for these lovely boys, they were very spoiled in their previous home.

Charlie and Cody love attention and enjoy spending time with their people. They previously lived with a small dog and can tolerate other cats, but their favourite company is each other. These boys share a special bond and are happiest when they’re together.

Shelter life has been overwhelming for them, and we’d love to see them back in a home where they can relax, feel secure, and be showered with love.

To help them find that perfect forever family, we’ve reduced their adoption fee to a two-for-one adoption special for approved adopters willing to keep them together. 🏡💙

If you’re looking for two loyal companions who will fill your home with love, Charlie and Cody may be the perfect match.

Until it arrives, he’ll be patiently waiting in the catio, practicing his best “cute face” and soaking up whatever rays he can find. 💛

🐾 A Difficult Start, But Safe Now 🐾

Yesterday we welcomed these four boys into the shelter after they were found abandoned near the corner of Huntline and Mohrs Road outside of Kinburn.

According to the finder, the cats were discovered huddled in the grass near a busy roadway, frightened, confused, and exposed to the heat. It appears they had been abandoned there with no food, water, or shelter. Thankfully, a kind hearted community member spotted one of the cats near the road and was able to locate and safely secure all four before tragedy struck.

Now that they are in our care, the boys will receive a full intake assessment, be scanned for microchips, and receive any veterinary care they require. Over the coming days, we’ll get to know their personalities, monitor their health, and help them settle into shelter life. Once we know more about them, they will be prepared for adoption so they can find the loving homes they deserve.

While we don’t yet know their full story, we do know one thing, these boys are safe, cared for, and no longer facing the world alone.
