🐾Tick season is officially here!

This tick was removed from one of our patients this morning. The owner noticed it right after their morning walk.

Please help us keep your pets protected. We offer a wide range of flea/tick and heartworm preventives. Here are a few facts regarding Lyme disease:

- It is transmitted to dogs by the black-legged tick (Ixodes Scapularis), commonly known as the Deer Tick, infected by the bacterium, Borrelia Burgdorferi
- Symptoms of Lyme disease include swelling and excessive warmth of the joints, fever, muscle tenderness and swollen lymph nodes
- The transmission of the disease is not instant. It takes between 41-48 hours for the tick to transmit Lyme disease.
- Most tick prevention, will kill ticks within 24 hours before transmission of the Lyme disease
- It can take 3-4 weeks before Lyme disease show up in a blood test
- In order to prevent Lyme disease, we offer a wide variety of tick prevention as well as a vaccine against Lyme disease
