Last year, a stray mama cat and her four kittens were spotted in a field by caring neighbours who quickly turned concern into action. They watched over them, fed them. They made sure the little family were safely trapped. The most experienced neighbour fostered the little family until they were healthy and ready for their next chapter. Then came the plot twist every rescue story hopes for: their next foster ā€œfailedā€ with two of the kittens,
Mama Celine was fostered by a third neighbour and clearly had her own planā€”Carole and Guy never stood a chance.
Now she spends her days overlooking the very same field where she was once found, watching the birds for food, but this time from the comfort of her forever home where she is served her meals. Quite the upgrade.
Congratulations, Carole and Guy, on your beautiful foster fail. Celine knew exactly what she was doing.

Every week foster families are asked to post updates. A big fat pain in the butt. . Not this week! Lottie's Mom could not wait to share this update. LOOK at the amazing transformation. Once fully vetted she will be available for adoption.

FOSTER UPDATE
About 3 days ago, Lottie went from being super shy and skittish, not letting me touch her at all, to suddenly being the sweetest, cuddliest little girl. She absolutely loves getting head scratches and will even stand up on her back paws to push herself into my hand to give her more. She loves to cuddle up on my chest when Iā€™m laying down and to give me lots of kisses on my nose when sheā€™s getting pets. She absolutely loves churu and has shown a funny little naughty side when it comes to them ā€“ I put up a half eaten one to save for later and she managed to hunt it down and break into the tube while I wasnā€™t there. Overall, Lottie is doing so fantastic here and itā€™s been so beautiful to watch her come out of her shell and show off her sweet, goofy personality. I am a foster mom well and truly in love šŸ„°

FOSTER UPDATE:T I can't believe I still have these cats. They are so sweet that it makes me sad. I look forward to coming home to them every time I leave the house. They play together but will allow me in some of the fun. Although both do enjoy their alone time they are the others' security blanket gravitating towards the other if separated for too long.

Our shy cat transferred to us from a Quebec shelter, where her time had run out. Unclaimed, considered unadoptable, probably because she was too shy is now beginning to show trust. Another win for squeezy treats! Her foster has now bestowed a name ā€“ Meet Lottie.

FOSTER UPDATE: Lottie is still very shy and hides when I come into the room. We have had a breakthrough. She now lets me feed her Churu! She loves it so much that she bites the tube while I feed it to her. Sheā€™s also become a lot more active at night when she thinks Iā€™m asleep, I even heard her playing around with a ball for a while last night! Right now, she hisses whenever I move my hand too close to her, but Iā€™m sure sheā€™ll be won over soon!

Lotties was one of the lucky ones. So many more out there. We, and other rescues are overwhelmed and do not know where to start.

Sparkles has been with us for a month. Previously in a foster program through a Quebec shelter she was showing promise. After four months, apparently not enough. We have her now with a wonderful foster willing to give her time.

FOSTER UPDATE: Sparkles is still very nervous and skittish. She now has free run of the house. Although she hisses at me when I approach she will come close to play with the wand or laser pointer. She enjoys watching the birds and people passing by and likes to play with her array of toys. She enjoys the company of her house mates who have welcomed her with plenty of butt sniffs.
For now, Iā€™m happy with just being her food provider and pooper scooper! She is a sweet girl that simply needs time and patience.

Last week there was a concerned comment about Nessa not having a lap to sit on for the duration of her time in care. All our foster cats are in loving homes with an abundance of available laps and foster parents ready and willing the cats to 'just do it'

FOSTER UPDATE: Nessa has officially joined the house band as their new manager. This shy little music critic spends her evenings supervising mandolin and guitar sessions, proving that Bluegrass music is acceptable while random household noises remain highly suspicious. Oddly, loud grinding sounds? Completely fine. A spoon dropped in the kitchen? Absolutely terrifying.
By bedtime, Nessa transforms into a professional cuddle specialist, happily lounging across her fosterā€™s abdomen while collecting pets like theyā€™re part of her compensation package. Best of all, sheā€™s becoming wonderfully brave ā€” these days you can walk right beside her without even a flinch. Progress may be slow, but Nessa is clearly preparing for her world tour.

FOSTER UPDATE: KD continues to be the easiest little gentleman and takes his insulin like an absolute champ šŸ† Heā€™s also a fan of spa time. His brushing sessions are a favourite, and he very politely tolerates his toe bean baths (diabetic pees can be quite large and sometimes his paws become casualties).
This week heā€™s enjoying a much-needed sweater vacation while waiting for his new sensor. And just like his foster mom, KD has been fully embracing the nice weather and soaking up the sunshine. His favourite pastime lately has been afternoon sunbathing while simultaneously mogging everyone else in the household. He truly is the star of the team šŸ’«

A tremendous amount of time and effort goes into organizing and running these auctions, so it is very discouraging when successful bidders do not respond after committing to items. If we do not hear back from winning bidders by Wednesday, May 27, the items will be offered to the next highest bidder.
