***ADOPTED***
Our lovely Riverview Rescues foster kitten is still available for adoption. She is super sweet! She is playing, eating, drinking, using her litter box, and being a cuddle bug.
Squirtle must be adopted into a home with another young cat. 🥰
Stop in at Healthy Pets HQ, 420 Bank Street, to meet her!
Squirtle has been adopted!
Cats Name: Squirtle
ID # 26-048
Age: Born August 2025
S*x: Spayed Female
Foster Location: Healthy Pet HQ in Ottawa ON
Is your Foster cat sterilized: Yes
Is your foster cat vaccinated: Yes
Is your foster cat good with other cats? She’s fostered with an older girl now who doesn’t want to play with her, but is curious about the other cats who live in the house outside of her range. With slow introductions and a young playmate, I think she’ll be great.
Is your foster cat good with dogs? No introduction to dogs yet. (She does have a curious but cautious personality so with calm respectful dogs, I can see her doing very well.)
Does your foster cat like to be around people? Yes!
How is your foster cat when new people come into the home? Skittish now. She’s young, and needs time to get comfortable.
Does your foster cat live with kids? If no, has your foster cat been exposed to children ? Yes, she lives with teens and enjoys being pet by them.
Does your foster cat like to snuggle? Yes! She loves attention and is very comfortable lying on laps or in the crook of your arm gazing up adoringly at her person.
Does your foster cat like to play? Yes, she’s very playful. She likes small soft balls that she’ll occasionally fetch for you, and tracking moving toys. She also likes attacking laces on your shoes if you’re sitting with her. She occasionally needs direction to use a scratching post.
Is your foster cat litter trained? Yes
Does your foster cat have any special needs or medications? No
Does your foster cat display any aggression? She will aggressively ask for play with the older cat she’s fostered with but I wonder if this is a kitten thing. Having come from an abandoned home with many cats, and being quite young, she does notice when the other cat is eating and often tries to take over.
Does your foster cat display any fears? Loud noises
What are the first 3 words you would use to describe your foster cat: chatty, playful, cuddly
Please provide an example of the ideal home for your foster cat: Squirtle would benefit from loving humans who will understand her beginnings in an abandoned house, and give her consistency… regular meals, playtime, lap time, and a window from which to watch the world. Right now, when she’s happy from attention being given, she’ll go from her person to the food bowl, eat a kibble, and come back again, as if reassuring herself that there’s still food.
