We are a full service veterinary clinic located at 36 Duke Street Unit #6 in beautiful Bedford Nova Scotia. We have three wonderful veterinarians, Dr. Jeff Goodall, Dr. Jennifer Marriott and Dr. Anie Levesque. Our staff consists of our office manager Kim, 2 Veterinary Technicians Michelle, Taylor, Tiffani, and Hannah. Veterinary Assistants Lori, Sam, Ashley and Paige. Our practice is open from Mon

day to Friday 8am until 8pm and Saturday from 9:00 am until 1:00 pm. We have the ability to treat cats, dogs, birds, reptiles, Amphibians, ferrets - and Rabbits & small pocket pets (only with Dr. Marriott). We love them all! - including snakes, bearded dragons, and geckos. We have a surgical as well as a therapeutic laser. Our surgical laser replaces the scalpel blade. It seals as it cuts and reduces the amount of healing time. It decreases the amount of bleeding, swelling and discomfort associated with surgery. The therapeutic laser is a non-medicine way of helping the body to heal wounds, ear infections and general skin infections, relieve discomfort from arthritis, degenerative disk disease, cystitis (inflammation of the bladder), sprains and strains. Please this group is not to ask or give any type of medical advice for your pets. If you have a medical related question please call our clinic and one of the staff members will be happy to help! Please post pictures (which may end up on our website), thoughts, ideas, stories etc.

Polydactyl cats are born with extra toes, most often on their front paws. It’s a genetic trait and is usually completely harmless, just an extra dose of cute. That said, those extra toes can come with a few care considerations. More toes means more nails to trim, and sometimes they grow at different angles or are easier to snag if not maintained. Most polydactyl cats live totally normal, healthy lives, but regular paw checks and nail trims are important to keep them comfortable.

Dogs experience the world through scent in a way we can’t fully imagine. They have up to 300 million scent receptors, compared to about 6 million in humans, which means smells carry much more information for them.

What seems gross to us is often fascinating and informative to them. It’s completely normal behavior, even if it makes us question their choices.

Names that are short and easy to recognize tend to work best. Pets respond more quickly to one- or two-syllable names with clear sounds, especially when they don’t resemble common commands. Most importantly, choose something you’ll love saying every day.

To your cat… it’s actually a compliment! Cats groom the ones they trust. It can also be a way to bond, mark you with their scent, or just show a little love (in their own… chaotic way).

If it ever becomes excessive or obsessive, it could be a sign of stress or something medical, so keep an eye on it.

💧 Is your dog drinking enough water? A good rule of thumb: about 1 oz per pound of body weight daily. But things like heat, activity, and diet can change that! Noticing big changes in thirst? That can be a sign something’s up. Let’s check it out: (902) 835-2223

A dog’s reaction to guests can tell us a lot about their comfort level and behavior. Reactions like barking, hiding, or guarding can be linked to anxiety, lack of socialization, or protective instincts. Understanding those signals can help prevent stress and create safer interactions for everyone.
