We are a full service veterinary clinic located at 36 Duke Street Unit #6 in beautiful Bedford Nova Scotia. We have three wonderful veterinarians, Dr. Jeff Goodall, Dr. Jennifer Marriott and Dr. Anie Levesque. day to Friday 8am until 8pm and Saturday from 9:00 am until 1:00 pm. We have the ability to treat cats, dogs, birds, reptiles, Amphibians, ferrets - and Rabbits & small pocket pets (only with Dr. Marriott). We love them all! - including snakes, bearded dragons, and geckos. We have a surgical as well as a therapeutic laser. Our surgical laser replaces the scalpel blade. It seals as it cuts and reduces the amount of healing time. It decreases the amount of bleeding, swelling and discomfort associated with surgery. The therapeutic laser is a non-medicine way of helping the body to heal wounds, ear infections and general skin infections, relieve discomfort from arthritis, degenerative disk disease, cystitis (inflammation of the bladder), sprains and strains. Some cats become playful and energetic, while others roll, rub, purr, or simply relax. The effects usually last about 10–15 minutes before wearing off. Interestingly, not every cat responds to catnip. Sensitivity is inherited, and about one-third of cats don't react to it at all.

Yes. Biting is a normal part of kitten development. Kittens use play to learn about their environment and develop bite inhibition. While it may not feel very gentle, this is an important part of growing up.

The best approach is to redirect biting toward appropriate toys and avoid encouraging play with your hands or fingers.

Almost never. Cats don't have accidents to "get back at" their owners.

Instead, they're usually trying to tell us something is wrong. Common causes include:
🚽 Urinary tract infections
🪨 Bladder stones
😿 Stress or anxiety
🦴 Arthritis or pain
🧹 Litter box issues

A cat that repeatedly goes in and out of the litter box, strains to urinate, or produces little to no urine could have a urinary blockage, a life-threatening emergency, especially in male cats. If your cat suddenly stops using the litter box, don't punish them. Schedule a veterinary visit to find the underlying cause.
