Today we said goodbye to our wonderful tech student, Dan — or as we fondly nicknamed him, “Stu” (short for student, because two Dans in one hospital got confusing fast! 🐾). Stu has been such a fantastic part of our team, and we’re so proud of all the hard work and heart he’s put into his time with us. 💙

We surprised him with a little Vet Tech Student Survival Kit to send him off as he heads back to finish his schooling. We know big and exciting things are ahead for him, and we’ll be cheering him on every step of the way. ✨

🔥🌲 Wildfire Emergency Preparedness: Be Ready Before You Need To Be 🌲🔥

Wildfires in Nova Scotia can spread quickly — having a plan in place protects your whole family, including your pets. Here are some key steps to prepare:

👜 Create a Go-Bag
• 3–7 days of food & water for people and pets
• Medications (human + pet)
• Copies of important documents (ID, insurance, medical/vet records)
• Pet supplies: leashes, carriers, bowls, litter, waste bags

🚗 Plan Your Evacuation
• Know at least 2 routes out of your community
• Keep your gas tank at least half full during fire season
• Arrange transportation if you don’t drive

🐾 Prepare for Pets
• Keep collars/tags updated with your contact info
• Microchip pets if possible
• Have a safe place arranged ahead of time (friend, family, pet-friendly shelter)

📋 Stay Informed
• Sign up for Nova Scotia emergency alerts
• Monitor local news & government updates
