When you’re the staff pet and your coworkers have absolutely no intention of letting you recover from sedation in peace. 🪩✨🌈

Luna came in for a procedure and woke up to an impromptu disco party courtesy of the veterinary team.

Thankfully she recovered beautifully. Her dignity, on the other hand, may still be in recovery. 😹

When your patient brings their own dance moves to the appointment. 💃🕺

This little ear mite may look like it’s busting a move under the microscope, but these tiny parasites can cause significant irritation, itchiness, inflammation, and ear infections in our furry friends.

If your pet is shaking their head, scratching their ears, or has dark debris in their ears, it may be worth having them checked by your veterinary team.

For now, enjoy this microscopic dance party. 🎶🔬🐾

Evie and Maddie, our incredible staff pets and biological sisters, donated blood through the during the clinic we hosted today. These girls are universal donors, which is especially rare in golden retrievers, and their donation could help save multiple pets facing emergencies, surgeries, trauma, or critical illness.

Right now, there is a desperate need for animal blood donors in our community. Blood products save lives every single day, but they can only exist because of amazing pets and owners willing to step up.

We are so unbelievably proud of these two girls for doing something so small that creates such a massive impact. Tiny capes. Huge heroes.

If you think your pet may be eligible to donate, we strongly encourage you to learn more about becoming a donor by checking the link below. One donation can truly make all the difference for another family’s pet. ❤️

Hank came to see us on a more urgent basis today after tearing a nail, and despite being understandably uncomfortable, he remained the sweetest, happiest, tail-wagging boy through it all.

With a little sedation and a lot of love, we were able to safely remove the damaged nail. As you can see, the entire quick was exposed, which gives a pretty incredible look at just how sensitive these injuries really are. Torn nails may seem minor, but they can be extremely painful due to all the nerves and blood vessels involved.

Hank also earned himself a couple funky shaved toes to help keep the area clean while healing, and with some TLC from his family, he should be feeling much more comfortable in no time.

Happy Healing Hank! 🧡

We had such a fun day meeting pets, chatting prevention, handing out goodies, and helping keep our community protected during this tick season.

These little moments with your pets are always our favourite part of what we do.

Here’s a little glimpse into our Tick Screening & Prevention Clinic day! 🧡

Tiny patient. Massive opinions.

Zoru came in for a visit and discovered the true meaning of love: a lick treat that absolutely nobody else was allowed to touch. The growling started the second he realized there was even a chance someone might take it away. Survival instincts: activated. Tiny lion energy: unmatched.

Safe to say Zoru has officially reviewed our snacks and given them his full approval.

🐾 THIS FRIDAY! 🐾

Tick season is already in full swing here in Nova Scotia, and we’re seeing more and more pets coming in with attached ticks and tick-borne disease concerns.

Our Tick Screening & Prevention Clinic is happening this Friday, and appointments are still available while they last!

✔ Tick-borne disease screening
✔ Once-yearly flea & tick prevention options
✔ Swag bags & giveaways
✔ Extra in-clinic value available during the event 👀

You do not need to be a current client to participate, but pets must be up to date on their annual exam.

Give your pet a full year of protection and a little extra peace of mind heading into tick season. 🧡

Oslo stopped by the hospital today for treatment of an ear infection and completely stole our hearts with those classic Dalmatian spots. 🖤🤍

Fun fact: Dalmatians are genetically predisposed to developing urate crystals and bladder stones because they process uric acid differently than most other dog breeds. Staying well hydrated, feeding an appropriate diet when recommended, and regular veterinary care can help support urinary health in these beautiful pups.
