🐾🍪 Nurse Amanda’s Famous Homemade Doggy Biscuits! 🍪🐾
If you’ve ever visited Aura Veterinary Hospital during Christmas, Easter, or Halloween, there’s a good chance your pet has sampled one of Nurse Amanda’s homemade dog cookies! 🎄🐰🎃
These biscuits have become a bit of a clinic tradition, and now we’re sharing the recipe so you can make them at home for your own furry family members. 🐶❤️
🛒 What You’ll Need
✔ Mixing bowl
✔ Spoon or spatula
✔ Rolling pin
✔ Cookie cutters (seasonal shapes make them extra fun!)
✔ Baking tray
✔ Oven
🦴 Ingredients
• 200g plain flour
• 100g rolled oats
• 80g peanut butter (always check the label and never use sugar-free peanut butter, as some contain xylitol, which is highly toxic to dogs)
• 30g honey 🍯
• 100ml water (you may need a little extra to achieve the right dough consistency)
• 1 x Rafferty’s Garden 4+ months squeeze pouch in one of the following flavours:
* Blueberry, Banana & Apple 🍎🍌🫐
* Pumpkin 🎃
* Spinach, Apple, Broccoli & Pea 🥦🍏
👩🍳 Method
1️⃣ Preheat your oven to 200°C.
2️⃣ Combine the flour, oats, peanut butter, honey, water, and squeeze pouch in a mixing bowl.
3️⃣ Mix well, then knead into a dough. Add a little extra water if needed.
4️⃣ Roll out the dough using a rolling pin.
5️⃣ Cut out your favourite shapes using cookie cutters.
6️⃣ Place on a baking tray lined with baking paper.
7️⃣ Bake for 5–15 minutes, depending on your oven and how crunchy you’d like the biscuits.
8️⃣ Allow to cool completely before decorating.
🎨 Optional Doggy-Friendly Decorations
🐾 Melted yoghurt drops
🐾 Dog-friendly carob
🐾 A light drizzle of peanut butter
🧊 Storage
Store in a sealed container in the fridge for up to 3 weeks.
