Just back from a fantastic 3 days deep immersion of Chinese Herbal Medicine and Acupuncture taught by two of the very best in the world, Dr. Steve and Dr. Karen Marsden. I learnt So much! Cannot wait to put it all into practice. We learnt about strategies for cancer including hemangiosarcoma, osteosarcoma and lymphoma, for cruciate ligament disease, for patellar luxation, cognitive disfunction, renal disease and so so much more. These doctors have been doing the real work healing animals with herbs and acupuncture for decades.
I feel a certificate in Chinese herbal medicine calling me!

Treating beautiful Rykker for a nasty eye ulcer today. We use acupuncture alongside conventional antibiotic ointment, NSAID and topical administration of his own blood plasma to try to speed up healing. I am using points to clear heat from the liver channel and to stimulate the body to release natural endorphins and anti-inflammatory compounds.

This is so good. So often we see people at shows or at home who feel that they need to lunge a horse before riding to feel safe. Maybe we are thinking about it all wrong. We need to look at teamwork and how rider and horse can both be as calm as possible before riding.

Sometimes it’s the weird stuff we do on the ground that makes the biggest difference when we ride 😁
