“So when are you going to become a Vet?”
It’s a question almost every veterinary nurse has been asked.

And while veterinarians and veterinary nurses work side by side, they’re different professions, with different skill sets, different responsibilities and equally important roles in patient care.

Veterinary nursing isn’t a stepping stone. It isn’t a backup plan. It isn’t something we do while we wait to become something else.

It’s a profession we chose because we found something special in advocating for patients who can’t speak, turning fear into comfort, combining science with compassion, and being there through every tail wag, recovery and goodbye.

To every veterinary nurse — thank you for the skill, dedication, empathy and heart you bring to your patients & clients every single day.

Happy Vet Nurse Awareness Month 💙🐾

A little refresh is happening behind the scenes ✨
Moffat Beach Vets will be closed Thursday 29/05 & Friday 30/05 while we undergo some renovations to make the clinic even better for our patients, clients & team.

We’ll be back Monday 01/06 from 8am–6pm, refreshed and ready to go 🐾

As always, if your pet requires urgent veterinary care while we are closed, please contact your nearest emergency clinic. Thank you for your patience🤍

Sometimes one of the hardest and most beautiful parts of this job is that we don’t really leave it at work.
Long after the consult room is cleaned, the surgery lights are off and the doors are locked, we still catch ourselves wondering and hoping that your baby is okay.
Aside from you, there’s nobody who wants the very best for your pet quite like your vet team does. 🤍

Meet our Blue Boy Arti… otherwise known as Nurse Shay’s personal sleep paralysis demon.

While he was an absolute angel in hospital for Aunty Susie & the girls, at home he’s better known for waking mum up at 2am, escaping through the garage door, making her late for work & generally causing scenes wherever possible.

At a solid 7kg (without a lick of Maine C**n in him), Arti is one of the biggest domestic cats we’ve seen — leaving plenty of room for him to be full of personality, attitude, cuddles when he feels like it, and just enough deviance to keep life interesting 🩵

Last night, Bently arrived feeling pretty sorry for himself. He was painful, miserable, refusing food, and definitely not impressed with us touching his sore mouth.

After a thorough assessment, plenty of pain relief, a dental procedure to remove the source of discomfort, and a whole lot of love from the team, today was a very different story.

Today he woke up brighter, looking for cuddles, accepting treats, and finally acting like himself again. There is honestly nothing better than watching a patient go from painful and withdrawn to comfortable, safe, and feeling loved

This is why we do we what we do, happy healing sweet boy 🧡🧡🧡

Last night we met Bently under the most unfortunate circumstances. He was sore, sad, not eating, and understandably had the grumps with us.

Today, after many medications, a dental extraction procedure, and plenty of TLC, he woke up asking for all the snacks and smooches we had to offer. 🖤

What a privilege it is to help heal those who cannot speak for themselves.
