PET OF THE WEEK: DARYL 🦷✨
This week’s crown goes to our very handsome Daryl, who had quite the day with us on Wednesday! 👑
Daryl was our one and only hospital patient for the day while he underwent a major dental procedure. With a known heart murmur and a history of being a little tricky under anaesthetic, his team kept an extra-close eye on him from start to finish. 🤎
After full dental X-rays and a thorough assessment, Daryl had four troublesome teeth removed, alongside a scale & polish of his remaining pearly whites.
It was a big day for one little man, but Daryl recovered beautifully and headed home with a much healthier, more comfortable mouth. 🥹
Enjoy your crown, Daryl — you definitely earned this one. 👑🐾

Okay pet parents, we say these ones with love 🫶🏼🦷

1. Dental disease doesn’t always stay in the mouth.
Inflamed and diseased gums can allow oral bacteria to enter the bloodstream. From there, bacteria can circulate throughout the body — which is one of the many reasons we take dental disease seriously.

2. Eating does NOT mean their mouth isn’t painful.
Pets are incredibly good at adapting to dental pain. Many will continue eating completely normally despite fractured teeth, infection or significant periodontal disease.

3. The part of the tooth you can see isn’t the whole story.
A huge amount of dental disease happens below the gumline. A tooth can look relatively innocent from the outside while there’s significant disease underneath — which is why dental X-rays are so important.

4. It’s more than “just a bit of tartar”.
Plaque contains bacteria. Once it hardens into calculus and inflammation develops around the gumline, we’re heading into periodontal disease territory — and brushing alone can’t undo established disease.

5. The best dental is the one we can help you avoid.
Good dental care starts before there’s a problem. Brushing, dental diets, appropriate chews and regular checks can help keep disease at bay — because we’d much rather help you prevent a sore mouth than treat one. 🫶🏼

The mouth is part of the body, and dental health is healthcare. We promise we’re not obsessed with your pet’s teeth for no reason.

This week’s Pet of the Week goes to Cherry 🍒🤎

For an entire week, Cherry had been waking the household every night with diarrhoea — meaning Cherry, Mum and big sis Olive were all VERY ready for some answers… and some sleep.

So Cherry spent the day with us on fluids, had a diet change, plenty of monitoring and approximately 400 cuddles. And despite being the patient, she was genuinely the little ray of sunshine our day needed. 🥹

And the update we were all waiting for: over the weekend, everyone slept through the night. 🙌🏼

No midnight diarrhoea. No exhausted household. Just one very cute Cherry feeling much better.

10/10 hospital patient.
10/10 ears.
10/10 result. 🍒
