The Victorian mandated pound and shelter reporting data recently released that euthanasia of cats & dogs almost doubled from 2023 to 2024 whilst animal rescues increased.

It's clear we need to do more to prevent animals from needing to be rehomed and support humans to keep animals together.

👏CONTROVERSIAL HOT TAKES WE HAVE AS AN ANIMAL RESCUE👏

💅 We provide food and supplies to all our foster carers and believe it’s the minimum they deserve and allows accessibility to foster caring.

💅 We rarely take animals to events like expos or meet days in groups because it’s not nice for them. We prioritise the animals wellbeing not what’s best for the human.

💅 We are transparent about our animal numbers, income and expenses and believe all charities and animal welfare organisations should be.

💅We don’t use terms like death row because animals haven’t committed crimes and we don’t compare them to the human suffering.

💅We FIV test all cats and although it’s an expense we incur we believe it’s crucial to understand their health before adopted.

💅We are staunchly force free and advocate for animals in and out of care and believe all animal rescues should have policies and procedures around animal behaviour based on science.

💅 We believe animal rescue is not the answer to the over population crisis we are currently facing for cats and dogs. The answer is supporting humans and preventing animals needing rehoming.

💅We don’t discriminate toward adopters, especially based on income, everyone is deserving of animals.

💅We provide transport if foster carers don’t drive and if we can’t source a volunteer we provide uber vouchers and believe it’s the least we can do for accessible rescue.

💅We don’t use click bait or guilt trip foster carers to take animals as it’s doesn’t provide an ethical outcome for the volunteers or animals.
