We exist to make sure every animal is cared for with compassion. Humane Animal Rescue was founded by two friends in Naarm.

After years fostering dogs and cats, we are here to offer an ethical, supportive and caring rescue for poochies, pussies and the people who save their lives.

We have signed the lease and we need your help!

People in the West need a designated space to support them and their pets - please help us make this possible.

We need you more than ever:
🙏 Share our posts - so easy & helps!
🙏 Donate to our GoFund me or on our website
🙏 Hold a workplace fundraiser

There is no animal welfare without human welfare - let’s support people and their pets 💕

‼️ Help us open an outreach hub! ‼️

We are opening an outreach space, we have leased 2/277-287 Barkly Street, Footscray 🥳🙌

This is a site we will use a volunteer space, a space to fundraise and run our services out of. Opening this space is a huge risk for us financially and it is crucial for us to get the word out and fundraise for this space ✨

Ultimately we felt it was inevitable that we couldn’t continue to expand our outreach services and grow as an organisation without a designated space our volunteers can work, engage and operate our outreach services out of.

We need your help to make this possible!

Ways to support us:

❣️Donate to our Gofund me campaign — https://gofund.me/ac21128ea

❣️Buy tickets to our Drag bingo Trivia Event

❣️Share & engage with our posts - especially this one!

❣️Tell your workplace to hold a fundraiser!

Head to our website to learn all about this project and more ways to support.

Thank you!!

Did you know we can cover the cost of professional behavioural support for your pet? 🐾

Through our Paws & Support program, we connect families with qualified, force-free and fear-free trainers, with 100% of the cost covered by us!

Little Pikachu and his human, Suzanna, recently received one-on-one support from Alex at Alex Matsoukas | Dog Training Castlemaine, working on pat consent and feeling more comfortable around strangers. 💜

We know accessing professional support isn’t always affordable, which is why we’re working to make it easier for families to get the help they need, without the financial stress.

A huge thank you to Suzanna for letting us share Pikachu’s story, and to Alex for being part of the program! 🫶

Monday blues? Mochi has some unsolicited advice 🫡

Is any of it helpful? Debatable. Is he qualified? Absolutely not.

But he IS available for adoption, if you’d like to receive terrible advice on a daily basis 😌

🚨 OFFICIAL STATEMENT FROM OUR FUN DEPARTMENT 🚨

The Fun Department has identified a concerning lack of things to chase, chew and violently shake. We are treating this matter with the utmost seriousness.

Our Paws & Provisions team needs more cat and dog toys for the packs we distribute to pets and their families in our community!

We are requesting assistance from the public.

Please send balls. And mice. The fake kind.

An official list of approved emergency supplies can be found on our Amazon Wishlist (link in bio) 🫡

✨AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION✨

Adele could never deliver a performance this powerful.

Patrick is sweet and loves a big cuddle. Don’t let that handsome face fool you though, because he’s approximately 70% silly goose 🦢

Think Patrick could be the one you’re looking for? 👀

Check out his adoption profile via the link in our bio.

Now THAT is a donation haul 😭💗

A huge thank you to Animal Rescue Cooperative (ARC) for this incredible donation of pet food and supplies!

Having essentials like these on hand helps us continue supporting pets and their people when they need it 🐾

We’re so grateful for the organisations that help make our work possible 💗

🕺🕺 IT’S THE FIRST OF THE MONTH!! Which means…

Thoughts and prayers to whoever had to crunch the numbers 😂

September’s report is here! As always, we’re sharing what came in, what went out, and what we got up to over the month.

None of it happens without the people who donate, shop, foster, volunteer, adopt, share our stuff, or support us in whatever way they can. So, as always, a massive thank you for backing what we do 💗

And if you’d like to help us keep it going into October, there are plenty of ways to get involved & support us.

👉 Head to the link in our bio to find one that works for you!
