Spotted a lovely piece of fan art today inspired by my portrait of Björk. My portrait was featured on the front cover of international illustration annual 3 x 3 Magazine back in 2009! Such a thrill then, and still a thrill now.

Just back from a couple of days in the city!
One of the highlights: visiting Readings and spotting Wanda the Water Warrior on the New Releases table!

I may’ve roped my kid into taking about 17 different photos of me with the book because I was THAT excited. (But here are just a few.)

OK. News just in.

The photoreceptive cells in Sir Richard Starkey’s retinas have transduced photons reflected off my work into neural signals, initiating visual processing in his brain. In short, the great Ringo Starr has seen it!

He now has a copy of Madeline Bocaro’s brilliant book ‘In Your Mind - the Infinite Universe of Yoko Ono’ (with my portrait of Yoko on the cover.)

Thank you Madeline for bringing me along on this literary adventure - it continues to be astounding. ‘It’s certainly a thrill.’

In honour of World Book Day I thought it’d be fun to do a cover reveal!

Wanda the Water Warrior written by Zoe Walsh, illustrated by me and published by Boolarong Press.

The aim of this book is to educate and inspire young Australians and support their water literacy, teaching them that every drop of water counts and that simple actions can make a big difference.

It aims to teach young children (our future generation) about the importance of water and to empower them to do their bit in safeguarding this precious resource.

Wanda the Water Warrior will be released in a couple of months, and we can’t wait to share more of it soon!💧🌈

My daughter and I spotted 2 Fairy-wrens on our recent walk with bird-surveyors, The Glenfern Green Wedge Group.

These two are Superb Fairy-wrens, but there are also:

Splendid Fairy-wrens
Red-winged Fairy-wrens
Blue-breasted Fairy-wrens
Purple-crowned Fairy-wrens
Variegated Fairy-wrens
White-winged Fairy-wrens
White-shouldered Fairy-wrens
Red-backed Fairy-wrens, and
(wait for it…)
Lovely Fairy-wrens!

I might need to do a whole series just on Fairy-Wrens!! Such darling creatures…
