Albury Animal Care Centre The AlburyCity Animal Care Centre cares for stray, lost and abandoned dogs, cats & livestock. Microchipped animals are kept for 14 days if not claimed.

We help reunite animals with their families and find new homes for those needing a fresh start. 🐾 Unidentified animals (non microchipped) will be kept at the Albury Animal Care Centre for 7 days if not claimed. At the end of this time period, the animals become the property of Albury City Council and can be legally sold or destroyed. All impounded dogs or cats in New South Wales must be microchipp

💙 Happy Father’s Day to all the pet dads! 🐾

The ones who said they didn’t want a pet…

Who “don’t let them on the couch” but somehow always have a cat or dog curled up beside them.

Who say they’re “not buying any more treats” and then come home with a new bag.

Who insist they’re not the favourite… while being wrapped around their little paw. 😂

Here’s to the dads who might have started out as reluctant pet owners, but ended up with a best mate for life. 🐶🐱💙

And praying that Lady’s Training Season is finally OVER! 🙏

This sweet girl has had three attempts at finding her forever home — but unfortunately, things haven’t quite gone to plan:

🐾 One adoption ended when it was discovered she wasn’t suited to living with cats.
🐾 One family didn’t turn up to collect her after her desexing appointment.
🐾 And another family didn’t show up to her foster-to-adopt appointment.

But Lady is still here, still waiting and still hoping her person will come along. ❤️

From 9 September, Lady will be available for adoption.

🐾 From Thumble to O’Malley ❤️

Some cats take a little while to settle in… and some decide within an hour that they’ve found home. 🥹

Our sweet Thumble, now affectionately known as O’Malley, has officially settled into his forever home and it sounds like he couldn’t be happier. ❤️

He has become a wonderfully affectionate little guy, complete with a purr loud enough to wake himself up! 😂 But perhaps the sweetest part of his story is the bond he has already formed with his new feline sister, Martha.

The two have been spotted snoozing together in the sunshine and even giving each other baths. 🥹☀️🐱

It’s safe to say O’Malley has well and truly gone from rescue cat to beloved family member.

We absolutely love receiving updates like this. Seeing our animals relax, settle in and become completely themselves in their new homes is the best part of what we do. ❤️

Thank you to O’Malley’s family for giving him his second chance and for sharing these beautiful photos with us.
