Our beautiful Teddie 💕would have been 10 today. It breaks our hearts that we don’t get to celebrate this milestone with her here by our side. We miss her more than words can ever say, but we hold on to the love, joy and memories she gave us every single day. Happy Heavenly Birthday pretty lady 🩷 we will always carry you with us. 💔🐾

Did you know Friday 🐔
One of the most common food allergies in dogs is actually… chicken! 🍗🐔

That’s right — while many pups enjoy it, some dogs can develop sensitivities or allergies to chicken, which may cause itchy skin, upset tummies, or ear issues.

Chicken is one of the most common protein sources used in dog foods (kibble, treats, wet food, etc.). Because dogs are exposed to it so often, their immune systems can sometimes start to overreact — this is what we see as a “food allergy” or sensitivity.

Basically:

High exposure → chicken is in a lot of commercial foods.
Protein structure → some dogs’ immune systems mistakenly see chicken protein as harmful.
Result → itching, skin irritation, tummy upsets, or recurring ear infections.

So, it’s not that chicken is “bad,” it’s just that over time some dogs become intolerant to it — much like how people can develop allergies to foods they eat a lot.

At Todd’s Tasty Treats, we’ve got plenty of delicious chicken-free alternatives so every pup can enjoy delicious meals without the discomfort. 🐶
