Did you know that we have a microscope in the van?
This is Lucy who is patiently awaiting the results of samples that Dr Hannah took from a couple of lumps that her humans were worried about.
It's great being able to look down a microscope on site and in good news for Lucy they were just fatty lumps. What a sweetie.

This is Molly.
Molly enjoys snacks and doesn't enjoy trips to the vet. Molly has sore hips so she's understandably sensitive about being touched around her back end.
Molly's humans asked if Dr Nerida would see her at home with the hope that she'd be less anxious. She was.
One of the reasons we love this job is that all our consults go for an hour, so our patients feel less rushed. It's amazing what a difference this can make.

** RECEPTIONIST/ ADMIN ASSISTANT/ VET NURING HELP REQUIRED **
Business community, I am once again on the search for a beautiful person to help me with admin and reception work predominantly. If you have vet nursing experience and want to help with patients one day a week alongside reception work that would be a real bonus! (Am I delusional and looking for a unicorn? Perhaps but if you don't ask you don't know).

This is George.
George is a senior gentleman now who enjoys nothing more than a couple of rounds of sudoku, some birdwatching and then an afternoon nap in the sun.
In the evenings he takes a short stroll around his house with his wonderful human just to check everything is in order before he calls it a day.
We love George and we find his life deeply aspirational.

Last weekend was our dearest Jen's birthday. We say it every year but we're so glad to have her on the team and in our lives.
She understands cats like no one else (we think she's part feline) and her kindness and positivity are a joy and privilege to be around.

We're so excited to welcome Dr Nerida onto our team here at The Vet and The Van. Many of you will have seen her smiling face in consults over the last few months.
Nerida brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the team, particularly in the fields of medicine and emergency and critical care.
She has a strong focus on providing low stress, fear free care for our patients and along with nurse Jen has her Fear Free Certification.
Most days, Nerida can be found out riding one of her many bikes or at home with her two tabby cats (Sue and Fliss), small white terrier (Nala) and three teenage boys.
We are so stoked to have her!

This Tribute Tuesday we'd like to honour the beautiful Missy who, as a team, we had been seeing and loving at home for the last three years.
Her family have made her a little memorial garden under the cherry tree where she is buried and planted some lion daffodils to pop up in the Spring.
We love seeing the ways families honour and remember their beloved friends. She will be so missed by her family and the whole team. ❤

As the end of financial year approaches we thought we'd take on a new apprentice to help with stocktake.
His unpacking talents are second to none but unfortunately he seems unable to put a single item back where it came from. Stocktake is likely to be a bit slower this year.

When the senior dog (Mollie) gets a new friend (Winnie)...
It's a big deal for a senior and arthritic dog to have a new, energetic friend join the family.
Mollie's humans put a lot of care and thought into introductions and give Mollie plenty of time and space to herself. This has meant these two now get along swimmingly and it hasn't caused a worsening or flare up of Mollie's arthritis.
What a stunning pair.
