🐾💙 Good News Story: Maverick!
Maverick the Bulldog gave his family quite a scare this week after suddenly becoming unwell. He started vomiting repeatedly and couldn’t keep food—or even water—down. When he turned his nose up at his favourite meal, his owner knew something wasn’t right and brought him straight in.
After being admitted to hospital, we ran blood tests and took x-rays, which revealed the cause—a 3.7cm foreign body in his stomach and intestines. Not exactly the kind of “snack” we’d recommend… 😅
Maverick was taken to surgery that same day, where we removed not one, but TWO stones that had caused a blockage. Turns out Maverick really took “rock solid appetite” a bit too literally! 🪨🐶
Thanks to quick veterinary intervention, careful monitoring with an overnight stay (thanks to the team at Melbourne Animal Specialist Hospital!), and excellent post-op care at home by his dedicated owners, Maverick has made a full recovery and is back to his happy self 💙✨
