In honour of dental month - let's revisit this case when dental x-rays saved the day!

🦷🐱 Meet Loopy, our sweet feline friend who came in just… not quite herself 😿

Her diligent human noticed she wasn’t playing, had stopped grooming, was vocalising more, lost interest in food and losing weight. Something was definitely up — but on visual exam, we couldn’t see much apart from some dirty teeth 🤔

Enter: DENTAL X-RAYS — the superhero of this story! 🦸‍♀️🦷

Loopy was admitted for a dental clean, and thanks to x-rays, we discovered a retained tooth root hiding below the gumline — a sneaky source of serious pain! 💥🦷
Swipe to see an amazing before and after!

👎 No X-ray = No clue
👍 X-ray = Found the culprit & removed it!

Now Loopy’s back to her fabulous, playful self — grooming, eating, and even enjoying head scratches again! 😻

🔍 Dental disease in pets can be invisible to the eye. That’s why dental x-rays are SO important — they let us see what’s happening beneath the surface to catch issues before they cause long-term pain.

If your cat or dog is acting "off," their mouth might be trying to tell you something 🐾

Now is the perfect time to book for a dental clean, for the month of August, we are doing FREE dental x-rays with every dental! That's a saving of $250! Plus your pet walks away with a healthy mouth of teeth above and below the surface! 🌟

⚠️H5 Bird Flu detected in a wild bird in Victoria ⚠️

Agriculture Victoria has confirmed a case of H5 avian influenza (bird flu) in a wild bird in Victoria. While the risk to the general public remains low, everyone can play an important role in helping prevent the spread of disease.

If you see sick or dead birds or wildlife:
🚫 Do not touch them – avoid all contact.
👀 Record what you see – note the location and the type of animal.
📞 Report it by calling the Emergency Animal Disease Hotline on 1800 675 888 or reporting it online.

Please report:
• Clusters of 5 or more sick or dead wild birds of any species anywhere in Victoria.
• Even a single sick or dead seabird, waterbird, shorebird, bird of prey, or marine mammal (such as a seal or dolphin).

Thank you for helping keep our animals and community safe. 💙
