We can hardly believe it’s already been two years since opening our doors. In that time, we’ve been honoured to care for so many pets and support their families through the highs and lows.

We never know the battles others might be facing, and starting a conversation could make all the difference.

Meet Jelly Bean, the adorable 4-year-old Cavalier who came to MASH feeling very unwell with vomiting, diarrhoea, and no appetite. 🐶💔

After an ultrasound revealed a linear foreign body, we discovered her unusual snack choice… 28 hair ties 😳🎀 Over time, these had made her very sick.

Jelly Bean underwent an exploratory laparotomy, where all 28 hair ties were removed. Thanks to the amazing surgical and ICU teams, she recovered beautifully, was eating again soon after, and had her cheeky appetite back in no time! 💕

We’re so glad she’s feeling herself again, minus the hair tie cravings! 🐾✨

McLaren & Gracie – partners in crime and in comfort 💕

After a sneaky sultana snack (which can be toxic to dogs), these two stuck together (literally 🐾) through the whole adventure. With some quick care and a little help from the team, emesis was induced and both were safely back on their way.

Through it all, McLaren found comfort by leaning on his sister Gracie quite literally, reminding us that the best adventures (even the unexpected ones) are faced side by side 🐶🐶

👀 Can you guess what’s abnormal in this dog’s bladder based off this X-RAY? 🐾

Meet Molly, the brave 6-year-old Shih Tzu cross! 🐾 She recently came to MASH after struggling to urinate. An X-ray revealed the culprit being bladder stones (also called cystoliths) 🪨, which, if left untreated, can block the urethra and become life-threatening.

With the skilled hands of our specialist surgeon, Molly underwent a cystotomy to remove the stones safely. 💉🩺 Thanks to a smooth surgery and lots of TLC, Molly recovered beautifully and has been thriving in her post-op period. 🌸💪

Meet Ida, the sweet and energetic 1-year-old Border Collie who recently visited MASH after suddenly becoming acutely lame following a big run around the park—possibly a collision with a rock! After a thorough workup and radiographs, our team found she had fracture her left femur.
