🐾Have you seen our new website? It features all our current staff (and their pets!) and is full of information on your pet's health. Our current adoption kittens will be posted on there, as well as a monthly blog focusing on a relevant pet topic 🐾

Our blog topic for this month is discussing the early signs of arthritis in our cats and dogs. As the weather cools down, signs of arthritis begin to become more visible. Here is the link if you are interested in having a read! https://elgarvet.com.au/blog/is-your-pet-slowing-down-early-signs-of-arthritis-in-dogs-cats/

This beautiful girl is Tinkerbell. It's not polite to mention a lady's age but let's just say that if she were human, she'd already have her driver's license 🙊 she comes in regularly for an injection to help with her arthritis, and at her last visit she also had a mani/pedi (also known as a nail clip...) as a lady needs to keep herself presentable at all times 💞

Here's three of our beautiful adoption kittens! The black and white boy is called Pepper Jack (953010008062824) and is an absolute snuggle bug who loves purring.

Next up is Mozzarella (953010008062669) who is one of the white beauties with two grey dots on her head. She is a busy little lady who also loves a cuddle from either other cats or her human companions.

And finally, we have Camembert (953010008062703) who is another white girl, but she only has one grey dot on her head. She is a confident and independent girl who would love a home with either other cats or even a friendly dog.

If you are interested in meeting any of our adoption kittens, then please call the clinic on 9899 9518.

Do you know that cats get arthritis too? It is estimated that 60% of cats over 6 years old and 90% of cats over 12 years old show signs of this condition.

Signs in cats are more subtle, but easier to see if you know what you're looking for. There are many treatments available that make your cat more comfortable.

Contact us at the clinic if you would like to book an appointment with one of our vets.

This little darling is Azura 🥰 she is a blue Burmese and is just over one year old. She was in recently so we could have a better look at her teeth while she was anaesthetized (as you can imagine, trying to examine an active young cat's teeth is quite difficult!). She had previously come in for a consultation with Dr Lee and her teeth had appeared..... unusual!

Once anaesthetized, it was confirmed that she had an extra tooth, not just on one side, but an extra one on both sides of her bottom jaw! Dental xrays were taken, so we could get a better look at what was going on under the gum.

As her xrays show, the extra tooth (on one side in particular) is growing sideways, and removing it would be a delicate procedure with a lot of care needed not to damage her other teeth. After consultation with her owner, it was decided to wake her up without removing them, and to refer her (along with her very impressive xrays) to a veterinary dentist in order to gain advice on the best way to proceed. Although nothing much changed for Azura on the day, we gained valuable information to help decide on the best way forward for her and her future dental health.

We loved having Azura stay with us for the day - she loved a cuddle and didn't stop purring!

Can you spot her extra teeth on her xray? 🦷🤔
