🐾 Meet Blaze! 🐾

Blaze is a typical 15-week-old Golden Retriever puppy—curious, playful, and always looking for adventure.

On Tuesday night, his mom caught him chewing on a bone... and within seconds, he swallowed it whole.

She rushed him to us immediately, and X-rays confirmed the bone had already reached his stomach. Because Blaze is so young, Dr. Marais decided to try inducing vomiting before considering surgery.

Blaze was determined to keep his prize, but after a few attempts (and a little extra persuasion!), he finally vomited up two large pieces of bone that could have caused serious damage.

A final X-ray confirmed everything was clear, and Blaze went home to his very relieved mom. ❤️

⚠️ Pet owners: Always supervise your pets with bones, chew toys, and treats. It only takes a few seconds for a fun chew to turn into an emergency.

We're so glad Blaze made a full recovery! 🐶💙

Dr Annemarie will be on maternity leave and away until October.

During this time, our House Call service will unfortunately be unavailable. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your understanding as Dr Annemarie takes this special time to welcome her little one.

Our team at the clinic remains available to care for your pets and assist with appointments and any questions you may have.

On 9 August, Country Animal Clinic and Sweet Paws will sterilise 50 dogs and cats in a single day, giving them a healthier future and helping to reduce pet overpopulation in our community.

After surgery, every patient deserves more than just medical care; they deserve warmth, comfort and a full tummy while they recover.

Help us provide 50 blankets and 50 bags of dog and cat food before Spay Day.
