🎄✨ GUESS WHO’S HERE! ✨🎄
Our Christmas courier .za made a very festive delivery today… and dropped off our very own Holiday Gnome! 🎅Delvan wasted NO time making himself at home at Sunset Beach Vet:

🐾 Snapped a selfie with our practice cat Luna (who is mildly unimpressed but accepting)
🎁 Helped himself to the Christmas snacks
📸 And even took over the reception desk like he owns the place!

Pop in, say hi, and see where he’s hanging out next!

Bullet couldn’t wait to try the Christmas biscuits… and of course, he got an early sample because he’s been a very good boy this year. 🐶✨

Pop in and spoil your furry family with something delicious and festive! 🎁🐱🐕

Public urged to avoid Cape fur seals amid rabies risk ⚠️

An increase in rabies cases among Cape fur seals has raised serious concern, with authorities urging the public to be cautious as the summer holiday season approaches. While these marine mammals form an integral part of our coastal ecosystem, it is crucial to recognise that human-wildlife interactions can have severe consequences.

Rabies-positive seals have shown unusually aggressive or disoriented behaviour. The disease is fatal and can spread through bites, scratches, or even contact with saliva. Members of the public are reminded not to touch or approach seals, even if they appear calm or injured. Only trained professionals should handle and care for these animals.

Beachgoers, swimmers, and surfers should remain alert. If you spot a seal showing abnormal behaviour, exit the water immediately and report it to lifeguards or Municipal Authorities.

⚠️ Snake Sighting – Sunset Links Beach ⚠️

A snake has been spotted on the beach at Sunset Links, near the first stairs leading down to the sand.

Please be mindful and keep a safe distance.
🐾 Keep dogs on leads and away from the area.
🐍 The snake will move off on its own if left undisturbed.

We’ve alerted the snake catchers, who have advised everyone to keep clear and not attempt to approach or move the snake.

Let’s give it space and allow nature to take its course safely. 🌿

🚧🐾 Important Travel Update 🐾🚧

There’s ongoing road construction near the clinic, and we want to make sure all our clients can reach us easily! 💚

📍 If you’re coming from the Table View / Blouberg side:
➡️ Drive past our regular turn-off
➡️ Take the exit by the Engen Garage onto Ocean drive
➡️ Then turn right onto Bay Beach Avenue to reach us

📍 If you’re coming from the Milnerton / Paddocks side:
➡️ Take the turn-off at the Engen Garage to get to us
⚠️ If you miss this turn, you’ll need to go all the way to Dolphin Beach to turn around and come back to the Engen Garage turn-off

🚗 Please allow extra travel time as there may be delays due to construction and traffic.

We’ll keep you updated as progress continues — thank you for your patience and understanding! 🐕🐈💚

🐦✨ Meet Our Unexpected Guest! ✨🐦

A couple of weeks ago, a client brought us a very tired little racing pigeon who decided to take an unscheduled pit stop. We gave it some TLC and tried to track down the owner through the ring number – but it looks like the details are no longer active.

This feathery friend is now rested and ready for a new chapter. Since we don’t want to just send it off and risk it getting into trouble again, we’re hoping someone with an aviary might like to give this pigeon a forever perch. 💙

If you or someone you know would love a new feathered friend, please get in touch!

🚨 It’s not official until it’s Facebook official! 🚨

For those who haven’t met her yet, meet our new Practice Manager, Hermien! 🎉

She’s the calm one in the background keeping the wheels turning (and sometimes rescuing us from mild chaos 😅). Hermien loves animals of every size and shape, and when she’s not keeping the practice on track, you’ll find her hanging out with her dogs and other critters, or getting creative with one of her many arts and crafts projects.

We’re thrilled to have her on the team – so next time you pop in, give her a wave (and maybe a coffee 😉). 🐾
