We love our pets unconditionally and consider them a huge part of our family. Part of that love and caring is knowing what signs our pets are giving us to let us know when they need medical attention. The Animal Emergency and Referral Center of Minnesota has provided a list of these signs to look for as an indicator of when to bring our pets into our Vet (or ER). It could save their life.

Lethargy or collapse
Anxiety or restlessness
Difficulty breathing (e.g., noisy breathing, stretching the head and neck out while breathing, seeing the abdominal body wall moving a lot while breathing)
Constant coughing and inability to rest through the night
Coughing up pink, frothy, foamy liquid (or blood)
Panting constantly

We all think it's because they found a long-lost crumb wedged between their toe-nails and they're going to dig this thing out like it's the last crumb on earth!

Well, the American Kennel Club is here to shine some light on the subject and perhaps give us all a little more clarity.

Our pets truly LOVE having us work from home during this pandemic. Of course, they don't know "why" we're home, they just know we're home.

Just a friendly reminder, as some of us begin going back to work, the stress and anxiety our pets going through shouldn't be ignored. Extra walks before and after work along more more pet-cuddling when you're home, will help keep your pets stress level low and their tails wagging high!

Each Veterinarian and team member is deeply committed to the health and well-being of your pet. We love animals as much as you do! When you choose the "right vet" for you and your animals, look to the Adams Morgan Animal Hospital. AMAH Staff Dr. James Boone , DVM Dr. James Boone is co-owner of Adams Morgan Animal Hospital. He was born and raised on a farm in North Carolina. After paying his way through professional school, Dr. Boone graduated from Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1975. Dr. Boone then settled in Maryland with his wife Barbara. He went on to do an internship in the United States Army for three years. After several years of practice Dr. Boone developed a special interest in dentistry. He took several courses on performing root canals, fillings and specialized oral surgery. Today he splits his time between his three practices (the third one being Dominion Animal Clinic in Herndon, Virginia). Dr. Boone served 20 years in the United States Army Reserves. He is very active in his church, Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Rockville, where he serves as chairman of the deacon board. In his free time he enjoys golfing, cooking, landscaping, and traveling with his wife. Dr. Jerrold Boone , DVM Dr. Jerrold Boone is co-owner of Adams Morgan Animal Hospital. He was born in Opelika, Alabama, while his father attended veterinary school at the Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine. Following in his father's footsteps, Dr. Boone, who is co-owner, graduated with a D.V.M. from the same institution in 2001. He received a B.A. degree from Morehouse College in Atlanta, GA. His special interests in veterinary medicine include soft tissue and orthopedic surgery. He attended a post-doctoral Extensive Small Animal Orthopedic Surgery Course at The Virginia-Maryland College of Regional Veterinary Medicine on the campus of VA Tech University. Not surprisingly, Dr. Boone's father has always been a great inspiration to him. "He has been a practicing veterinarian for almost thirty years, and has instilled in me a love and compassion for animals." In his free time, Dr. Boone enjoys golf, sports, motorcycling, spending time with his family and "anything that involves the outdoors".
