Cats have 32 muscles in each of their ears! This gives them the ability to swivel their ears 180°, allowing them to effectively zero in on the source of a noise.
They can hear sounds up to 1.6 octaves higher than a human and 4 to 5 times further.

Sudden ear twitches, head movements or changes in posture indicates your cat hears a noise.

Dogs LOVE to swim! (Well... most dogs) So here are a few precautions to take when letting your pooch take a plunge.

1. Rinse pool water/chemicals off your dog with fresh water and dry thoroughly. Also, dry ears well to avoid infection

2. Offer fresh water to drink so they don't drink the chlorinated water.

3. Not all dogs are strong swimmers, many panic. Use a life jacket for less than avid swimmers and NEVER leave your pet unattended at the pool.

Keep in mind, pet fur can clog filters and their nails can tear liners.

Most people love the bright colors and loud booms of the Fourth of July! Some animals tolerate the noise well, but most DO NOT. Please, listen your your cat or dog, they will tell you when they're frightened. Give them a safe place to hunker down till the festivities have subsided. Leave your pets at home during fireworks displays and find a less stressful way to celebrate with them.

It's happening! We can't stop it, CATS are taking over the world! With their cute and demanding ways. Who is really in charge? Ask yourself. You feed them, pet them, give them treats, clean up after them, let them walk all over you (literally), let them do whatever they want. When they are asleep on your lap, you don't dare disturb them..they are royalty after all.

It's no secret, dogs love people food, and who could blame them? While it is ok to occasionally allow then a treat from the table, remember, everything in moderation.
Do your research, some foods healthy for humans...are not so good for our furry friends.

Fruits like apples, strawberries, bananas and blueberries, offer certain health benefits, also, pumpkin, potatoes, broccoli and peas to name a few...however, Grapes and raisins are toxic, as well as chocolate, garlic and onions.

Be sure to check with your vet when adding a new treat to your dogs diet.

As the weather warms up, so does the pavement! Keep this in mind when taking your pet for a walk. Hot asphalt can seriously injure your dogs sensitive pads. Be sure you can stand to hold the back of your hand on the pavement for at least 5 to 10 seconds. If you can't, it's too hot for your pooch!

Opt for a nice cool evening walk instead, or find a grassy area that is soft and cool, underfoot.

It doesn't matter to us if they bark or meow. It makes no difference to us if they are playful or love to take naps. We couldn't care less, if they are purebred or a mutt. Whether they're big or small, ..... WE LOVE THEM ALL!! (It's kind of our thing!)
