This is what I call the trust proximity effect. Your veterinarian is not seeing your pet nearly as often as their groomer, trainer, pet store employee, etc. And while I have nothing but respect for these professions, the fact of the matter is they did not go to medical school. Let’s flip this narrative and normalize seeing your vet more often for comprehensive, preventative care.

Some cats arrive too stressed or fearful to be safely handled at the vet. While pre-visit meds like gabapentin can help, sometimes they aren’t given ahead of time. That’s when we break out the ‘kitty magic’ - a combination of meds that works well for cats and includes a reversible component to help keep the experience safer and less stressful for everyone involved.

Happy 4th! 🎇If your dog has severe fireworks anxiety, I would recommend preparing ahead and talking with your veterinarian about medication options. But since today is the 4th, I wanted to give you a tip you can implement today! This along with creating a safe, quiet space for your pet will ensure they have a smooth night.
