Please consider how you can support their efforts and spread the word. You can view the page here. https://www.avmf.org/programs/disaster-relief-in-ukraine/

People and animals in war-torn Ukraine need our help. Many shelters are experiencing food shortages and structural damage to facilities. As hundreds of thousands of residents flee the country, the number of displaced animals also grows and so do the needs

Meetings | The AVMLA

AVMLA Continuing Ed Wednesday, December 1, 2021, 8PM - 10PM, EST, John Scott, DVM, JD, Scott Veterinary Services will present on the Texas Supreme case overturning a lower court case granting non-economic damages (infliction of emotional distress) to an owner for negligence regarding her pet. The opinion is a well-reasoned discussion of why such damages should not be allowed until granted by the legislature. The case provides a solid argument for use in discussing this topic with those who believe that such damages should be granted solely on the belief that animals are "part of the family" and also provides a road map showing the proper way to approach the topic for those appealing to a legislature to grant such privileges.
