Partners for Pets is urgently calling on our community for help as we begin the fight against parvo with our newly rescued puppies.
It has been an incredibly challenging and overwhelming week. In just a matter of days, more than 60 animals have entered our care, each arriving with their own unique needs, circumstances, and, in some cases, serious medical challenges. From vulnerable newborns to animals battling illness, our team has been working around the clock to ensure every animal receives the safety, compassion, and care they deserve.
Our staff, volunteers, and dedicated foster families have stepped up in an extraordinary way. They have opened their homes, given their time, provided comfort, and gone above and beyond to make room for animals who desperately needed somewhere to turn. We are so incredibly grateful for this village of people who continue to show up when the need is greatest.
As many know, parvo is an extremely contagious and potentially life-threatening illness, particularly for young puppies. Treating this disease requires intensive veterinary care, constant monitoring, medications, fluids, and around-the-clock support. It is also incredibly expensive.
Our in-house hospital currently has the capacity to treat only TWO parvo patients at a time. This means that any additional puppies who require treatment must be transferred to outside veterinary facilities, creating an enormous increase in medical expenses. While we will never turn our backs on an animal simply because their care is costly, the reality is that we cannot do this alone. We need our community now more than ever.
We know times are difficult for so many, and we never take your generosity for granted. But with more than 60 new animals depending on us and the uncertainty of what the coming days may bring, we are asking you to please stand beside us.
These puppies didn't ask to get sick. They didn't ask for the circumstances that brought them to our doors. But together, we can make sure they have every opportunity to fight, recover, and experience the happy, healthy lives they deserve.
