Thank you so much for your friendship and sharing your pets with me over the years. I have enjoyed every moment! Now for the sad part, I will not be pet sitting for the foreseeable future. It makes sense for me to close Happy Tails. The website will go dark April 18, 2025. Feel free to reach out for recommendations on other area pet sitters.

Let me introduce myself to those of you who are new to this page! I’m Janice Harrison of Maryville, Il. I’m a long time pet lover turned professional cat sitter 6 years ago. I come to the cat’s house once or twice a day to provide some companionship and meet their needs with food, water, play and a clean box. Cats are genuinely happier in their own homes! I’m happy to be able to provide cats with care in their homes!

Metro East Humane Society's next vaccine and microchip clinic is THIS Saturday, May 18!🐶🐱

The clinic will be held at the Metro East Humane Society Highland location, 510 W Monroe, via drive thru format from 8 AM to noon (or while supplies last). We will require/encourage the following:
💉 Owners and pets must remain in their vehicle unless instructed otherwise
💉 We encourage owners to leave their human kiddos at home
💉 A writing utensil will be required; MEHS will not have pens available for public use
💉This clinic is open to all; no county restrictions
💉Canine and feline distemper vaccines are FREE thanks to !
💉 We will ONLY accept cash or check; two separate payments: one for vaccines and/or microchip and one for county registration

🚨Icy commutes Monday/Tuesday🚨

A concerning icing event is expected Monday into Tuesday Morning. Expect high impacts to travel, likely event cancellations and delays.

While amounts are not too significant, roads and parking lots will be slippery.

-Monday Morning Commute: HIGH impacts possible in the Saint Louis Metro. Freezing drizzle and rain is expected to begin between 5-6AM and continue through 9AM. The metro has high overpasses and these will ice up quickly. We urge residents in the Saint Louis Metro to PLEASE leave early and allow extra time to your destination!

-Monday Lunch Rush: Feeezing drizzle and rain is expected across central and northern IL by this point. Moderate impacts are likely as roads will have slick spots.

-Monday evening Commute: HIGH impacts as a a heavier round of freezing rain pushes in. Expect widespread delays and evening event cancellations. Biggest impacts are gonna be between I-70 and I-80.

Tuesday morning commute: HIGH impacts to travel and school delays/closures possible in central/NE IL. Icing will be ongoing and roads will be icy.
