Temperance Animal Hospital was established February 24, 1978. The hospital started as a one doctor practice and has grown into a modern full service hospital. Many of our employees and doctors are from this community and have chosen to serve the pets and people of this area.

🔥 Wildfire Smoke Is Tough on Pets, Too 🐾

As wildfire smoke affects our area, it's important to remember that our pets can feel the effects just like we do. Smoke can irritate their eyes and lungs, making it harder for them to breathe—especially for puppies and kittens, senior pets, and those with heart or respiratory conditions.

Here are a few simple ways to help protect them:
🐾 Keep walks and outdoor playtime short.
🏠 Keep pets indoors as much as possible when air quality is poor.
💨 Run a HEPA air purifier if you have one.
💧 Provide plenty of fresh water and a cool, comfortable place to rest.

Keep an eye out for signs that your pet may be struggling, including:
• Coughing or wheezing
• Difficulty breathing or breathing faster than normal
• Red or watery eyes
• Low energy
• Loss of appetite

If you notice any of these symptoms—especially trouble breathing—please contact your veterinarian as soon as possible.

A little extra caution during smoky conditions can go a long way in keeping your four-legged family members healthy and comfortable. Stay safe, and don't hesitate to reach out if you have any concerns about your pet's health. ❤️🐶🐱

Say hello to Luna, the beautiful grey tabby with a playful spirit and a big personality! 💙

Luna's favorite pastime is chasing string toys with impressive determination, and she'll do just about anything for a crunchy freeze-dried tuna bite. 🧶🐟

While she's always a sweetheart during her visits, there's one thing Luna loves even more than treats and toys—leaving the vet's office! 😸🏡
