Temperance Animal Hospital was established February 24, 1978. The hospital started as a one doctor practice and has grown into a modern full service hospital. Many of our employees and doctors are from this community and have chosen to serve the pets and people of this area.

As temperatures drop, our pets may need a little extra support to stay healthy and comfortable. Here are a few winter wellness reminders to keep them feeling their best:

🧓 Senior Pet Care
Cold weather can be tougher on our senior companions. Keep them warm, limit time outdoors, and provide soft, cozy bedding to ease stiff joints.

🦴 Arthritis Flare-Ups
Winter often worsens arthritis symptoms. If your pet seems slower, stiff, or uncomfortable, let us know—we can help with supplements, laser therapy, pain management, and mobility tips.

🌬️ Dry Skin & Coat Care
Indoor heating and cold air can dry out your pet’s skin. Regular brushing and fatty acid supplements may help keep their skin healthy and their coat shiny.

❄️ Cold-Weather Precautions
Shorter outdoor time, warm shelter, and paw protection are key! Don’t forget to wipe paws after walks to remove ice, salt, and chemicals.
